       Fuel filler

WTF? (and this pic was the better of the times I had to put
       fuel)
What a pain in the butt! Anyone do any of the mods for this?
It was ugly trying to put fuel in.

       There are these:

  HTML http://www.ktmtwins.com/ktm-690-enduro-smc-foamrubber-fuel-tank-cap
It seems like a band aid solution. What I'd really like is
       this:

The problem is, they've been backordered for months.

I have the foamy insert thingy - helped a little. I did see the
billet twist cap - will have to look into that more.

I was totally flabbergasted by the piss poor design of the OEM
       fuel filler and installed one of these;

Very well made and you have the option to use the OEM vent to
the canister or via the gas cap.

       Thanks for the headsup McNut,
       That looks great.

Does yours vent to the front like stock? I don't see how this
       design accommodates the breather hose.
I just emailed Craig at CJ Designs and requested some additional
photos. I'll share them here as soon as I get anything. Looks
       promising.

I believe your photo is of an older version, mine is a 1 piece
design with a nipple in the cap (standard Acrebis) and brass one
in the base with a cap for which ever remains unused.
In my case the bike is new to me (an 09) and running very well
so for now just went with OEM venting for now.
The CJ Designs assembly looks terrific on the bike even it
didn't help solve a significant problem, which it does very
well. No real down side to this design other then cost, very
easy to install. Workmanship is 1st class, 1 piece CNC machined
(not welded) and anodized. The filler neck (with the cap
removed) is 3/4" above the top of the baseplate. If I were to
nitpick I believe the aluminum thickness of the bits is on the
generous side which results in a HD part but one that perhaps
weighs more then need be. Service was great and while I was at
it also bought one of his TuneECU cables. And it's available,
when I ordered he was temporally out of stock but shipped as
       promised 2 weeks later.
Wow didn't think a word describing the act of urinating would be
       censored!

Sorry about that. I've tried to tone down the sensorship, but
createaforum won't allow it. This was especially frustrating in
the thread relating to the off road don-gle. If I don't use a
hyphen, it comes out dongle. ::)

I like the CJ product, just not the cheesy Acerbis cap! :-[

does anyone have a picture of this ON the bike?

Standard Acerbis cap, so any billet compatible will work.
Of the common for US aftermarket tanks (IMS, Clark & Acerbis) I
think the standard Acerbis is the highest quality and there are
       options available.

I think the plastic cap is an advantage. A metal cap might
cause the filler threads to strip. With a plastic cap you're
pretty much assured that, in the event of over tightening, the
easily replaced cap will be damaged, not the filler mouth.
       Just my $.02
