It didn't exactly break, but...

Took the big beast out for a scoot thru some single trap, fire
trail and a couple of very rutted hill climbs this am.
Return trip along a well used dirt road which after recent rains
was an insanely jolting washboard surface.
Got home, bike off, open gates to the shed and go turn bike on
to ride into the shed...it won't start.
Fuel pump does not get itself going, so I go to replace the
fuse, but before I do that I just push down on then to make sure
they are all seated - and the bike fires up fine. I guess the
bad corrugations loosened up the fuse contact a bit, but it got
me thinking about reports of the 690's that just cut out. Maybe
fuses are working a little loose.

I looked at my fuse box awhile back after moving from the
desert. There was so much dust and crap in there it just pissed
me off. So, I drank a few beerz and cleaned it up. Also put some
dyelectric grease on each fuse for contact insurance and
corrosion prevention. :P

I gave mine a blast with electrical contact cleaner...just for
piece of mind. Wasn't sure about the di Lx grease tho' just as I
was worried it would stick the dust in there.
Let us know how it looks after a bit if you would Seabeegt
