I got the Adventure-spec case guards and their bash plate in
black. THANK GOODNESS. already have 3-4 rock dings on the
bash plate - up high where the other plates don't cover! I
will try to get pics this weekend. I also used the red
permatex silicone.... then found my clear silicone a day later!
should have used the clear!

I got the AS in black anodized when the bike was new and now
have a few dings in the protective covers. Definitely worth it.

I put a set on within a week off getting the bike. A month ago I
did a mighty big take off on a gnarly uphill. The bike came down
on a big lean and landed on a couple of big granite rocks.
The clutch protector plate saved the housing but hit and bent so
badly it popped off. It took a big amount of reshaping with a
hammer to refit it but it sure saved the case. Glad I bought
them.

I like the carbon filer covers, but that web site is in German
(i think). Are they available in the US?

Guys, your experience may be different to mine but a goodly hit
on a carbon case guard from a rock smashed the thing to pieces.
Not on the 690, but it was an expensive lesson and decided me
against running CF in the future as guards or even exhaust can
hangers. I love the weight saving, just not the longevity.
