       aussie's first big DIY :D
By: aussieJJDude Date: January 12, 2013, 3:59 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
As some of you guys know, I got a 64G tank.
I am in the process of making pools now (they haven't been
"glued" in yet, doing it tomorrow) and the background. The
freshwater pool (is bigger) will hold snails, shrimp and a few
fish fry (3-4 guppies and a bristle nose) from my other tank.
Dont worry guys, the fish will go back into the other tank once
they grow up! I have kept pico fresh water tanks before :P so
all good :D I am also going to put java moss, duckweed and maybe
       a banana plant...
       and now pics! ;D

(Mind the books, thats the only way to hold it up :P)

The Styrofoam background before hand (This will rest on the
       sand)

Here is the background. got to still do some touch ups tomorrow.
But so happy that the tank is going up (beside finding a dead
       crab in the tank)
       Here was the base before

       Now :cheer:
  HTML http://i1342.photobucket.com/albums/o774/aussieJJDude/Crabs/Crabitat/DSCN0424_zps2b4d109c.jpg
       a lil hidey hole :D
  HTML http://i1342.photobucket.com/albums/o774/aussieJJDude/Crabs/Crabitat/DSCN0425_zps2f0b02c9.jpg
another one (more of a tunnel with a hidey hole in it)

  HTML http://i1342.photobucket.com/albums/o774/aussieJJDude/Crabs/Crabitat/DSCN0427_zps185ae3ce.jpg
A extra place (there is a hole in the second level, will place
cholla in here, up to the second level)
  HTML http://i1342.photobucket.com/albums/o774/aussieJJDude/Crabs/Crabitat/DSCN0428_zps5588a7e2.jpg
       Before (second & third level)
  HTML http://i1342.photobucket.com/albums/o774/aussieJJDude/Crabs/Crabitat/DSCN0421_zpsa78a39da.jpg
the second level (see the hole :D)
  HTML http://i1342.photobucket.com/albums/o774/aussieJJDude/Crabs/Crabitat/DSCN0429_zps63ca0a46.jpg
third (this need a major touch up)
  HTML http://i1342.photobucket.com/albums/o774/aussieJJDude/Crabs/Crabitat/DSCN0430_zps188e0da6.jpg
and to hold up the levels (the thing at the bottom is a PVC
       pipe)

And with the pools, they leaked. So i took them out and doing

Top view - fresh water is bigger as I found the crabs prefer to
       wade in freshwater

Salt water test - half done

Pebbles I am going to glue on.
The first one is the "most common pebble" in the pools. This
gravel will raise the pH and gH of the tank - funny how it was
the cheapest of the non-artificial black gravel.. only $2.99 per
kg. But its very dusty! :)
Second one will be my decorative gravel, this will be streaks in
the water - like a tiger :D . This is from a fish tank, so it
has good bacteria. I will also be getting java moss from my tank
too. plus some algae - if I can get it...
Then the last one will be used as the sand stopper pebbles as I
am thinking of running filters (or filter) in the tank(s)...
