Whooping Cough

I received a phone call from Maddie, one of the nurses from
rehab, on Tuesday to tell me that someone from rehab had
whooping cough and asked me if I was ok. A bit hard to say to
really as the symptoms are the same as hay fever!!! I don't have
a fever nor am I coughing more than usual, so it's safe to say
that I am fine, she none the less advised me to talk to my Dr. I
rang them and I talked to my Dr the next day and he sent me a
script for ABs and to start taking them straight away.
Apparently I have had the vaccine for it back in 2017 and it may
not cover me now or something so I am to keep an eye out for
symptoms AND he wants me to wear a mask everywhere as I am
susceptible to catching anything......sigh. I am not wearing a
mask everywhere!!!!

That story is familiar and as I have said before.... Been
there, done that and got the tee shirt !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And YES
I also have some similar symptoms over the last few days... been
coughing especially at night in bed .... harsh ... wet / snotty
type of cough !!! BUT I don't think it is Whooping cough :)
Never had a vaccine for it and never will................ but
taking ABs is a good idea isn't it .... just in case and it was
good that your nurse rang you to let you know about it all.
As for wearing a mask ......... I never did manage that back in
the days ...... having said that... I was emptying some of my
stuff in the Studio yesterday and I did find a whole pack of
those masks !!!!!!!!!!

I wore a mask during covid as was mandated, but I did hate
them!!!!! I am not coughing anymore than usual, just the usual
hay fever snotty and blocked nose etc.
Why don't you have any vaccinations?

I DO remember when we had to wear masks to go shopping etc and I
DID wear one back then Covid time ...but living in the country,
not very often :) NO need most of the time ! Local country
people never did !
I am coughing and blocked up now and again and I was thinking
ONCE AGAIN ..... IS it the Dogs in the house as it is worse at
night when I get into bed ??????????????? OR is it the fact I am
laying down and snug under the Cotton duvet ???????? I DO NOT
like dogs in the granny flat !!!!!!!!!!!!! PASS AGAIN !!!!!!!
I cannot remember any vac. jabs and neither can John :) Never
had a Covid jab I know that !
I have had the old UK vacs. as a child and had the ones needed
to move across the world etc etc :) Not keen on the thought of
any needle in my arm !
I will be thinking all night now of all the jabs I HAVE had over
the years and I AM sure we have talked about this before
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Off to bed now to think !!!!!!

I don't know what is causing my hay fever to play up so much at
the moment and spring will be here soon, so it will only get
worse!!!!

I hope you are feeling somewhat better today ... I have been OK
these last couple of days BUT today is bloody freezing and All I
have done is sneeze most of the day, not even been outside much
either !!!!!!!!!!!

I am fine, but it does drive one mad!!!! I got Robert to pull
the fridge out yesterday so I could clean behind it and Oh my
goodness, there was Hugo hair underneath and he has been gone
for nearly three years!!!!!!!! It's all gone now and the floor
bleached, that will be do for another few years now [emoji23]
