I was supposed to go up and visit Deb yesterday, but she rang me
Wednesday afternoon cancelling as she thought she had picked up
a tummy bug, she was vomiting etc so I didn't go. She had been
for a CT Scan that day (Wednesday) on her tummy. Then yesterday
morning Ed rang me to say that Deb's Dr had called her the night
before and ordered an ambulance for her as the scan showed she
had a perforated bowel!!!!! She is now in hospital and the
surgeons came around to see her yesterday morning and as the the
perforation is only minuscule, they won't operate but keep her
in for a couple of days on a liquid diet and see how she goes.
I went and visited her yesterday and she was still in pain and
feeling nauseous, but better than she had been.I will pop in and
see her again after I have finished my rehab exercises today.

Oh goodness It all sounds familiar to me as I am sure I had a
similar problem when in Perth !!! Anneliese took me to the
hospital and I had a scan and it turned out I had a slightly
perforated bowel and an appendix problem. I must look up my
records !!!!!!!!!! I think I ended up having my appendix out
.... !!!
Sending love for Deb and I hope she gets better soon

It was in Perth when I got my appendix out and I had been having
tummy pains on one ( right ? ) side and Annie took me to A&E
but they kept us waiting for ages so then Annie went up and said
I had Private Health Insurance..... I was seen in minutes
!!!!!!!!!!!! Kept in and had my appendix out later on that
evening !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Probably cost my Health Insurance co.
lots !!!!!!!!! I Also think it happened on Mother's Day ! I have
a photo of me in the hospital bed after the op... ! I saw the
photo just recently that is how I remember
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I never had tummy pains after the op.
The belly button area test, the gastroscophy..... was for the
hernia ...a swelling on one side down by my groin. I then had
the hernia cut out and I would not let them put me out for it so
I had only a local anaesthetic ! IT was OK and I went home
later on that day... in Perth too !

Deb had her appendix out several years ago, so that certainly
wasn't the cause of it and that is odd in itself as they don't
know how her bowel was perforated. She is now allowed to have
solids and if that all goes well, hopefully she will be released
today or tomorrow.
She was still on IV antibiotics and fluids yesterday when I
visited.

.............((((((((((((((Deb))))))))))))))))))))
I was thinking more last night and that time I had tummy
problems I was not allowed solids for a day or more !!!! Just
liquid stuff from the stand thing beside the bed !!!!

Deb was released yesterday afternoon and she is now home again.
They will contact her with an appointment to have a colonoscopy
done, hopefully that will be all clear.

There is no way that you would have had a colonoscopy for
suspected pneumonia!!!!!! I don't know what you are thinking of
but certainly not a colonoscopy.
I have an appointment this morning at 9.30am to see my
podiatrist and then an appointment at 10.45 to see my GP mainly
just to get scripts though.
Nothing much happening here at the moment.
