Talking of eating ......

Yesterday Corey brought us a LARGE piece of Pork almost
defrosted .... AH says John.. Sunday Dinner :) The piece was
too big to go into the slow cooker ... I WILL roast it .... says
John. But I managed to easily cut the joint in half.
I put the boneless half of the joint in the slow cooker this
morning along with some gravy, onions and garlic :) THAT was MY
share. !!!!
This arvo around 2:30pm John put HIS half in the oven...... BUT
because he rarely uses the oven he put it on too high.... wrong
setting ... NO specs on !!!!!!!!!!
I went to lie on my bed with my boring book as it was cold and
windy ... I got up at around 3:30 pm and looked into the oven
and the pork was almost black !! Meanwhile John had gone to the
supermarket to get some Apple sauce for HIS pork !!!!!!!!!!! Not
a fan !
I had already prepped the pots and vegies for roasting earlier
so I took the pork out of the oven and put in the vegies to cook
/ roast and we did have an early dinner :))))))))))) It did
taste good ..... well the crackling on the pork tasted
especially good and luckily I Do like my pork well done :)))
AS for my slow cooker pork .... well we can have that tomorrow
... I did put it in the oven for a short time with the vegies to
'finish' it off and crisp the crackling :) End of story
!!!!!!!!!!!

I prefer my pork still moist, not dried out and overcooked!!!!
Each to their own I suppose [emoji4]
Did you eat all the pork? The best part of a roast pork is the
crackling and believe it or not, that is what Robert is cooking
for our tea tonight, we have to buy ours from the butcher
though. [emoji4]

cooked yesterday but I put the crackling back into the oven to
crisp up today :)))) Delish, even John said so :))))))))))))))))

The roast dinner was lovely and the crackling perfect. We have
some pork and veggies left over too, so we will have them for
tea tonight no doubt.

I like a roast chicken, but I don't do it anymore as Robert is
not too keen, so we only ever have a pork roast now. He will
sometimes buy a cooked chicken though to have on sandwiches or
with a salad, but not very often. We had the left over pork with
a lovely salad last night.

I put the left over chook into the big pan along with vegies and
a tin of Chicken soup and we had that for dinner. Nice thick
soup :)
We did go to Whanganui to do a bit of shopping this morning
.... NOT MY idea really as I do have food here and IT was
raining .....but John was bored I think and needed a change of
scenary ! And of course John needed to buy Mc Donalds at 12:30
PM Lunch time !!!! I just had a few chips and a coffee as usual
BUT at least I DID not have to cook much for dinner so the soup
was good ;)))))))))))))
Got a couple of Pork chops out of the freezer for tomorrow !

We went to the sleep place in Toukley yesterday to get some new
filters for our C-Pap machines, then we went to a cafe for a
cuppa. Robert had a steak sandwich and I had a scone with jam
and cream, which I couldn't even finish!!!!! We just had a
sausage with salad last night for tea, I have no idea what we
are going to have tonight.

Sausage .... depends on what type it is as I am not a sausage
fan really BUT any meat with a salad suits me :) I cooked the
pork chops in the oven along with some frozen chips and a small
amount of mixed peas, carrot and corn ... frozen veg stuff !!!!
PLUS gravy for John and salad for me :) And I added a few pieces
of red capsicum roasting with the pork ! :)))
For tomorrow I got a couple of chicken breasts out of the
freezer to defrost .. probably put them in the slow cooker
tomorrow :))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
When it is PROPER summer and the days are hot .... we tend to
have salads more often .... I don't cook so much BUT NO Summer
yet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope you got your sleep things sorted
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love roast pork but very rarely have it as Paul is not keen,
he prefers beef or chicken, my favourite meat is lamb, again
Paul is not a lamb lover but I usually buy lamb chops or a small
leg for me and he has something else.
