Hello friends, I have had a lovely Christmas with Kate and Steve
being here, although they were only here for a short while it
seemed much longer and they also managed a trip down to Cardiff
for a couple of nights to see Mathew and the girls, that was
nice because Mathew has/is very depressed, his job, he hates it,
his new car has been in the garage for weeks waiting for a part
and he’s just been down in general so having Kate and Steve
there for a few days cheered him up a bit, he has also taken up
going to the gym again and running, so getting out in the fresh
air helps his mental health.
We went to the pantomime on Boxing Day and that was good, I did
find it all a bit overwhelming at times having Eifion here most
days, I felt a bit torn between him and Paul, it’s a strange set
up and although Paul gets on ok with Eifion, I do think he found
it a bit much, Kate said she felt a bit piggy in the middle at
times trying to spend time with her dad and how it was easier
when we lived in Yorkshire but then she loves the idea of us
living in North Wales. We had a day out to Chester and that was
nice. We took them back to the airport on New Year’s Eve, so
that was a sad day as it’s also the day Paul’s mum died, I
needed to keep busy so took all the decorations down on New
Year’s Day. I have spoken to Kate since she’s been back in
Brisbane and she is full of cold and has a bad cough, probably
something picked up on the plane, although Steve is ok at the
moment. Think that’s all my news for now, oh the weather here is
bad with snow and ice and forecast to get worse so I won’t be
going out walking anytime soon.

I am glad you had a lovely time with Kate and Steve and I hope
Kate is starting to feel better now, there are a lot of viruses
going around at the moment here.
I guess you would feel a bit torn as you want Eifion to see his
daughter, but you are married to someone else now and want to
also please Paul. Thankfully it is all amicable and that must
make it a bit easier. Sorry to hear Mathew is a bit down, I
thought he loved nursing!!!!?

I have never been in your situation.. but I really cannot
imagine how you manage to include Eifion in all your plans ..
maybe Christmas Dinner OK which includes his daughter Kate ..
etc but really and truly it is a strange set up and Eifion
seems to enjoy it and encourage it !!!!!!!!!!! HE IS a Psych
nurse so .... Pass !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sad to hear how Mathew is depressed ... you have mentioned this
... before .. is it the job or the wife ???????????

An odd day to travel .. New Years Eve ..... But I hope Kate and
Steve arrived safely back home to Aus. and saw 2026 in the sky

I thought Mathew was a theatre nurse [emoji848] Hopefully Chris
will come back and let us know.
We have flown home twice on NYE, back from Malaysia and was in
the air at midnight and no one said Happy New Year
either!!!!!!!!

Yes Mathew is a theatre nurse, I probably won’t see Eifion now
for a few months until Mathew comes up but they usually stay
with him, I don’t have room to put them all up. Steve and Kate
have flown back on New Year’s Eve before, it’s a lot cheaper for
them, I had a FaceTime with her today, both her and Steve have
been unwell since they got back with cold, coughs and general
aches and pains, she still sounded croaky today but says she
feels better.

Yes Mathew IS a Theatre Nurse. I was talking about Eifion
being a psych nurse .... has Eifion retired yet or is he still
working ????
I would think maybe the work of a theatre nurse would be
stressful

AH yes you HAVE said that before about Kate etc flying New
Year's eve and how it was cheaper !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I also seem to remember they were full of cold and coughing etc
when they got back to Aus. from the UK And Europe ... last time
!!!!!!!!!!!!
SO Darien..... is that why you and Robert also fly New Years eve
then ?? Maybe it was you who mentioned the flying being cheaper
then on NYE !!!!

OIC I read it wrong then Moira. I can't remember what Eifion
does now, but you are probably right.
It's a shame you don't have enough room for Mathew and his
girls, but Eifion is not far away from you [emoji4] Are they
coming up for Easter?
I can't remember why we flew back home on NYE, Robert books the
flights, but it was no doubt cheaper. In saying that, the plane
was busy!!!!!!

I suppose maybe Eifion has retired by now PASS. NO answer from
Chris so far :)
I think NY flights are always cheaper ..... Who would normally
want to fly on New Year's Eve ???? PASS :)))))))))))))))

I don't see how flying on NYE is any different, you still get to
where you are going.

Well once upon a time New Year's Eve was the one night of the
year that you would celebrate a NEW YEAR and go First footing
etc and celebrate another year coming along in your life
!!!!!!!!!!!! And never go to bed before Midnight came and the
Next Year started :) Back in the olden days I suppose
