Well we bought our tickets yesterday to come to NZ, we arrive on
the 14th March and leave the 1st April. Unfortunately after
Robert booked it we both realised we fly into and out of
Auckland airport instead of Wellington!!! How we managed to do
that I don't know as we both looked at booked the flights ::)
Not to worry, we have plenty of time and we will see a bit more
of NZ won't we?
We are off today at lunchtime to go to Forster for the weekend.
I will be taking this laptop with me, so I will still come in
and chat with you [emoji4]

AH maybe IF you wanted to see the S. Island you should have
flown to CHCH !!! PASS :)))))))))))))))))
So will you hire a car and drive down to Wellington from
Auckland ????? You have been to Auckland before have you not
with Kylie and Garry ? When we lived in Helensville ? So do
call in here and en route

My dear Moira, we are flying into the north island because you
said you would love to come with us down to the south
island!!!!!! I will admit we intended to fly into Wellington,
which is closer to you, but we made a mistake. Too late to
change it now though as it's booked and paid for.
I gather you will no longer be coming to the south island with
us then? If not, it doesn't matter as we will enjoy the drive
down south and of course we would come and see you [emoji171]

Sigh, well I would love to come with you to the South Island but
that was when my car was in good order and I did have some
savings !!!!!!!!!!! Not got much now !!! Still thinking

You won't need your car as you could come with us in the hired
one, but I will leave it with you and see how you go. Just know

Thank you my friend and I do appreciate the idea and I have been
thinking about it a lot and John says GO .. but honestly I just
don't think I can survive in a car on such a long trip .... plus
I have my pills and my ....thyroxine sleep in ... in the
mornings !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We have done the trip before with 4 kids from Marton ... down
via the West Coast and visited Queenstown and Wanaka then
further South to Invercargill then up to Dunedin then CHCH. Then
back up to the North Island to Marton :) A good few years ago
now :) Lovely trip.
I have also driven 3 kids and a loaded car from Marton to
Dunedin ... following John and Madeleine in a loaded Ute !!!!
When John was at UNi in Dunedin and I got fed up in Marton with
the kids alone !!!!
Also back up to Marton from Dunedin and return in a car with
Matt and his mate to check on the new and future owners of our
Marton House. Went via Timaru that time and visited our old
mate Helen and her then Husband Chris ? ( RIP ) and their nice
posh house :))))))))))
OK enough old memories and it IS bed time :))))))))) Raining too

Neither Robert or myself can sit for too long in a car these
days without seizing up, same for Deb. So we will be stopping a
lot and taking our time, staying in some places for longer etc.
There will be days when we will do very little as I have to rest
a lot these days and you can have your lay ins as often as you
like. It is of course your decision, but do keep it in mind, it
will certainly cheer you up and think of all the places you
could look for new books to read and take home with you [emoji7]
Helen's husband was John, how could you forget that? [emoji23]

Hahahaha so John was Helen's husband ? same name as mine
.......of course it was John .... so where did I get Chris from
???????????????? Bugger PASS again !!!!!!!!
I will be thinking about it and I do like the idea but it is a
long time since I have travelled anywhere by car ... and not
been the driver !!!!! New books ??? Hahahaha you DO make me
chuckle :)))))))))))))))))))))

Robert is a very good driver and it's not like you won't have
good company to chat to while you are a passenger. It has been
quite a few years since you have seen the South Island and we
will be going to Dunedin I believe, so you could relive some
memories.

I lay in bed last night listening to the rain and the wind and
thinking about the trip .... and I Know I would love it but ...
could I cope with it all...... not travelled anywhere for ages
