Cable Car ...............PASS !!!!!!!! I HAVE been on one or
two and I Have mentioned it on here way back ... Panic stations
... BUT I had to get up to the top of the Zugspitz Highest
mountain in Switzerland ..... for work !!!!!!!!!!!!! Also
been on one in Belgium but it was not so high and in Rome
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only cable car I have ever been on is the one in
Singapore........never again!!!!!!
I have seen that hotel on TV, no way would I ever get up
there!!!!!

Hahahahahaa The original Hotel Zugspitz has been closed or so I
have read ages ago but it was in a gorgeous spot on top of the
Highest Mountain and you could see Italy and Germany too :)
Brilliant and best ever views in the early mornings over the
mountains :)
I see The NEW Zugspitze Hotel is now in Garmisch Partenkirchen
..... a town lower down the mountain and where I also worked in
a German Hotel ....while my Irish travelling mate Irish Angela
and other Aussie mates worked.... in the American Forces R&R
hotel !!!!! ALL English spoken :)

Whichever one I saw on the travel show, it was ridiculously high
up a mountain in Switzerland and I would never stay there. The
view would be something else though [emoji7]

Apart from getting UP the mountain ... via cable car or mini
train .. which I preferred ... the view was glorious :) I DO /
DID have some old photos too .... somewhere !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I might go up by train, but I don't know. I did do the train up
Mt Snowdon and that wasn't toooooo bad, but I imagine this one
would be much higher??

If I remember it took ages to get up Mt Zugspitz in the
train.... but much better than the cable car :)
FYI ...... :)
Zugspitze (2,962 metres) glacier.
As soon as we have arrived at the beautiful Eibsee, one of the
most beautiful lakes in Bavaria, the new Zugspitz cable car
(opened 2017) will take us very close to the highest peak in
Germany.
During your stay on the plateau you will learn interesting
information about the region's history and its role in World War
II - plus you will enjoy a tasty traditional lunch
After our "at the top of Germany" experience, we will head back
towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

I thought is wa in Switzerland?? This says Germany!!!! Wherever
it is, no way am I getting a cable car up it. The scenery would
be magnificent though.

The Zugspitze Hotel up the mountain where I worked back in the
day was on the BORDER of Switzerland and Germany :) It was
famous for being half in Germany and half in Switzerland :) If
you looked out one way... West I think you saw the German
mountains .. if you looked East it was all Swiss mountains ! I
remember people used to come and take photos from both sides. I
did the same myself ... I MUST Look for my photos
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is the newer one in Germany then?
No chance of me getting to see any of it these days now, I can't
see myself taking that long flight again!!!! Shame, but that's
how it is.
