Kids

Just reading through some posts and it’s made me feel a little
sad because it’s seems we all have problems with our kids, well
I’m ok with Kate as she’s thoughtful and kind and contacts me at
least 3 times a week, we FaceTime probably 2/3 times a week
unless either of us is away on a break, she thinks of
Christmas/birthdays and what we would like, that’s not to say we
haven’t had our disagreements but it’s all good, Mathew on the
other hand since he has been married to Sian, I hardly hear from
him unless he is worried about his health, it’s very very rare
we FaceTime, we have a family group on messenger and when I ask
how they are doing, if he answers it just a couple of words,
even when I chat to him separately he doesn’t go into long
conversations, the last time I saw him and the twins was when we
went down for an overnight stay to babysit while they went to
see Oasis in July, Kate never hears much from him either,
whenever we mention it he’s full of apologies and just says he’s
busy, so now I don’t say anything but I would like to see more
of the girls.
Paul never hears from his son James, the last time we saw him
was at a funeral 2 years ago, his daughter Jess does FaceTime
with the kids every couple of weeks, used to be more often but
she’s not actually been to see us for 2 years, we have been to
see her in February and we’re hoping she’d come up with the kids
during the summer holidays but no, I know it upsets Paul but I
couldn’t care less anymore.
Paul always tells me the only one who’s bothered about us is
Kate and she’s on the other side of the world, maybe it’s
because Kate lived with us for over a year before she went to
Australia?
I used to be so close to Mathew and I admit it’s hurts to not
have more contact.

I believe it's a mothers lament to miss the babies we had, after
all those years of nurturing and loving them to only have them
fly the nest and then hardly see or hear from them, unless they
want something. No matter how good or bad a mother you are, it
seems to be the same. Kylie I hear from all the time, but I
always feel as though I am treading on eggshells and have to be
careful of what I say and I get sick to death over that. Belinda
calls usually once a week to complain about work or her life etc
but rarely, if ever asks how I am. I rarely hear from any of my
grandchildren and that does hurt sometimes. BUT, I have decided
that I will no longer let it get under my skin and live my life
the way I want to, as long as I have Robert, I will be alright.

Sad state of affairs for us all nowadays or so it seems to me :(
Rarely nowadays do we hear from Dan, Bonnie and
kids................. NOT Heard anything hardly except that
they got back to Abu Dhabi OK in early August !!!!!! I wonder
if they even know about Annie and the new babe !!!!!
Matt is now busy driving big trucks and is managing to feed
himself .... and working long days BUT He is not making that
much money as they pay more in Australia so he may go
back.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He does ring John fairly often
especially re: rugby games ... !!!!!!
Meanwhile we live in the field looking after the dogs
!!!!!!!!!!!! IF the weather is wild .... like today and
yesterday ... I spend a lot of time in bed, reading or snoozing
in the warmth and comfort :)))))))))))))))))))))))))
At least Kate keeps in touch with you Chris even if she is on
the other side of the World

Yes I think you are right we miss the babies we had, I know it’s
good they are getting on with their lives and we have done a
good job by letting them fly, it’s so hard at times being a mum

Being a mother is the hardest job in the world, both physically
and mentally. We give them all that we have 24 hours a day for
the rest of their lives. It is what it is I guess and we must
learn to live with all it entails.

Not heard anything from anybody so far today ... tonight ! But I
Do see on FB the local Waverley school put up a photo of two of
their boys... Jack's mates ... who did well in some rugby game
and I See both Dan and Bonnie clicked [emoji173] Hahaha so did I
:)

Kylie FaceTimed me yesterday while she was in a cable car in
Cairns, the one I wouldn't go on as it's way too high!!!!!!
