I have had bifocal glasses for years and I also have a just a
reading pair for being on the computer. I find bifocals easy to
use and are very handy for reading anything when I am out,
       especially when shopping.
I can see better since my cataracts have been removed, but that
could also be because my glasses are not adjusted to my new
eyesight. The Dr did say that I may no longer need glasses to
see distances, but I certainly need them for reading still.

Oh so you still have to wear your bifocal glasses even after you
have had the cataracts removed ? [emoji170]

If I no longer need to wear glasses for distance, then no, I
won't need bifocals. I can see better without the distance
glasses and often take them off, but I do wear them when I am
outside as I am light sensitive and need the transition to
       sunshade when outside.

AH so do you have those glasses that change in the sunlight ?
They look normal but darken in sunlight ? I bought a pair once
upon a time when living in Perth .... cannot remember what
       happened to them ....!!!

Yes I have had them since they first come out, they were a
Godsend to me, still are. I find it very hard to be outside
without them, even if it's cloudy sometimes.

I also have a few old pairs laying around, I really must take
them down to Specsavers as they send them to a Charity
organisation who uses the frames for countries who can't afford
       glasses etc.
