We are thinking now of getting a blue merle border collie, what
do you think Darien, didn’t you used to breed border collies?

Not being a dog lover particularly, I did look it up and it does
look like a lovely dog :) I am sure Darien can give you any info
you may need :)
I see she has not been on here today but they were travelling
back home today so I hope they have arrived home safely :))))))

A Border Collie is a super smart dog and needs constant mental
stimulation not just long walks like everyone seems to think
will do the trick, but they are the best breed of dog in the
world and I miss mine every day.
If that is your choice of dog to get, please go to a good
registered breeder and make sure they have done all the DNA
testing that is required for the breed. Make sure they have also
been tested and passed for hip dysplasia. All these tests are
required for registered breeders to have done, hence the price
hike. Also make sure the dogs have been bred for temperament as
well as form.
I know that is a lot, but you won't regret doing all the
enquiries and a good breeder will also ask questions of you,
like do you have good fenced back yard, will someone be home for
the puppy during the day etc. Don't be put off by this, you will
never regret getting a Border and you will be hooked on them for
life [emoji173][emoji178]

We had a border collie when I was about 14, called Shep, he was
amazing, would be waiting outside the school gates for us at
home time, school was at the top of our street, he was the most
obedient dog I’ve ever known, unfortunately he was knocked over
and killed, he was so badly missed

So you know at least how smart they are and how quickly they
train you and crawl under your skin [emoji7]
Blue Merle is a very popular colour these days, but give me a
good old fashioned black and white Border Collie any day

Are you talking about your Maggie Moira? Or at least Dan and
Bonnie's. No she is a German Short Haired Pointer, nothing like
a Border Collie!!!!!! I believe Bonnie said Baz was a Border mix
when she got him, couldn't see it myself, but then I haven't
seen a photo of him for a long time now.

Ah I have no idea really just the name Border Collie is familiar
! I do think you are RIGHT and It is Baz :))))))))))))))) Maybe
I will get some new pics for you tomorrow :) Baz is getting
BIGGER too !
So Maggie is a short haired German Pointer.... that does sound
familiar but she has quite a lot of hair :)
Juno is a Rhodesian Ridgeback
Baz is a Border Collie :) John says he is a Mongrel !!!!

Correction, Maggie is a Wire Haired German Pointer. Yes Baz is a
mongrel, nothing wrong with that [emoji4] My Maggie was too,
sweetest and funniest dog ever [emoji7]
