Thyroxine meds !

Change of meds.

I called into the Chemist here today to see why my Thyroxine
meds. had changed.... been there... done that not so long ago
..... BUT THE meds. are THE SAME ... says the chemist lady (
Nice lady ) BUT I am NOT the same .... tired, not hungry and so
on and so forth ..... !
ONLY the NAME has changed !!! Bollocks!
SO I then went to the CLINIC here.. only OPEN on a Monday and
Thursday !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got in to see the nurse on duty (
good job the female on reception knows who I am ... Hello MOIRA
:))))))))) The nurse took my BP etc etc and all is good so she
will talk to the GP and get me back on the original Thyroxine
pills !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am convinced THAT Is why I am more lethargic and get cramps
and not interested in eating much and so on and so forth ! I DID
Look back on our posts as I KNOW I have mentioned this before on
here but there is NOT that much to see !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pass !

SO we now have a new chemist again here in Waverley and has HE
changed MY Thyroxine pills ? PASS I will check on Monday
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I HAVE also been getting leg cramps in bed at Night
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember when this happened and you were not happy about it,
weren't they same medication but just a generic brand or
something? Are you still on them?

THEY were supposed to be the SAME but there was some slight
difference...... cannot remember what .... so I got them changed
BACK to the ones I have been taking for the last .... what
14/15 years !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You might hear me in Aus.
tomorrow when I go visit the new chemist ..... or have to go to
the local ... open GP clinic tomorrow !!!!!
OR even into Whanganui clinic like I HAVE done before re:
changing and sorting out my Thyroxine Pills . Hmmmmmmmmmmm
watch this space :(

Are you sure they have changed and they are not just using the
generic name? Or sometimes they are the same meds but look
different because they have come from a different supplier?

According to the Chemist today.... NO Change at all !!!! She
said go see the nurse in the clinic and get your bloods done ..
to maybe check why I do not feel right .... etc so I went for my
bloods this arvo. and got them done ! Now waiting to see any
results ... in maybe a day or two !!!!!!! PASS !!!
Apparently I have been on these different "Company" Thyroxine
pills for the last 3+ months .............................. ! SO
WHY NOW can I notice something not right ????????????? PASS
again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But once again this morning I woke up around 7am and took my
thyroxine pill as usual. John got up half an hour later and I
snuggled down and went back to sleep and was sound asleep until
I woke up and the bedroom so bright and it was 10AM
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very often if you have been on thyroxine for a long time, you
would need dose adjusting, you should really have regular blood
tests, this is why you don’t feel right.

My mum was always having to adjust her Thyroxine medication, she
used to have regular blood checks done too. That's the way your
body works, sometimes your body readjusts itself and send out
different amount that the body might need at that time, but as
you are having to take an outside dose, your body may be getting
too much or not enough sometimes.
Have you thought it may not be your thyroid that is mucking up
but something else?

Thinking EXACTLY that Darien, maybe it is NOT my thyroid or the
meds. !!!! Got my blood results this arvo and ALL GOOD !!!!!
Incl. Thyroid !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PASS.
I also went into the GP Clinic in Whanganui this morning ... "
Hello Moira " .. once again when I walked in the door
;))))))))))))))))))))))))))) I told ? ( cannot remember her name
.. so how can she remember mine ? ) that I was not happy with
the Thyroxine meds. and she spoke to the nurse who said it was
up to the Chemist which make of Pills they supplied ..... as
long as they were Thyroid pills. !!!
So back to Waverley Chemist and I said I did not like the pills
supplied ... Eltroxin.... !! It was the NEW young Chemist and
she was very nice but could not change my pills BUT She would
speak to the GP In Whanganui and let me know. So far
..........nothing !!!!!!!!!!
Tonight I have been looking up my Manage MY Health computer
thing and I SEE I have been on Eltroxin since 19/02/2024
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Before that it was Levothyroxine Sodium ! PASS
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SO is it me or is it the pills

Well I am glad your bloods are all good at least, including your
thyroid.
So you have been on the meds for well over a year now. Is it
possible, dear friend, that you have somehow convinced yourself
that you don't like them? I do remember looking them up and
Eltroxin is exactly the same as Levothyroxine, just literally
another brand name.
Tell me what bloods your Dr had checked??
