70th

I have decided that for my 70th birthday next year I want to go
to NZ [emoji7] The details of when etc will be worked out later
and I asked Deb yesterday if she wanted to come with us and she
said she would love to. We will of course come and visit you and
then travel down to the South Island, I prefer the the south
myself. When it's booked etc, I will let you know Moira [emoji4]

AH a brilliant idea and can I come with you too to the South
Island ?????? I would prefer to come with you and Deb than go
with anyone else to visit the South Island again !!!!! Do let me
know dates etc and costs ! :)))))))))))))))))) [emoji170]

If you want to come, you are more than welcome, we will be on
the south island for about 2 weeks I think. We will work out the
details later. You can cross from the north to the south island
via car ferry, can't you?

Great idea I think BUT it is early days :))))))))))))) If you
come here first I would love to join you in YOUR car ..... Not
driving my own .... preferably !
Yes of course you cross from Wellington to Picton usually via
Cook Strait ferries but I Do believe there is another ferry
service nowadays .. in Summer maybe ! PAss :))))))))))))

Yes we would be coming to you first, then going down south and
coming back up again to fly out from Wellington I think. Are you
closer to Wellington? I believe you are closer to there than
Auckland.
We will work out the finer details closer to the flight and
time.

We are about 5 + hours from Auckland and 2.5 hours from
Wellington. AS long as NO flying is in the idea and plans ....

WE have done that trip via car ... when we lived in Marton way
back :) Down to Wellington, car on the ferry Wellington to
Picton... then down the West coast. Beautiful scenery down to
Franz Josef Glacier and Mount Cook :) Haast, Te Anau and of
course Queenstown and Wanaka :)))))))))))) Then up the East
coast.
When you came to visit us in Dunedin back in the olden days
:))))) Did you not also visit Queenstown ??????????? You did go
North to Timaru to see Helen ????

No, we didn't get as far as Queenstown, but I would love to see
it. The furthest south we went was Dunedin I believe, from
Christchurch and that was a spectacular drive. It reminds me of
Scotland.
Yes we went to Timaru and see Helen and Alan let us have their
Jaguar to drive down south from there.

Queenstown nowadays is becoming even more of a popular place
plus loads of ' foreigners ' .... are looking to buy properties
there and they DO have the Money needed as the homes are not
cheap BUT they have never been cheap there for many years
!!!!!!!!!!
BUT A lovely place to visit scenery wise :) I think Madeleine's
mate Shiree still lives there ??? I Must look her up !!!!
AH yes.... I was thinking last night how you had Helen's Jag

Dunedin is a Scottish city :))))))))) Its name comes from Důn
Čideann ("fort of Edin"), the Scottish Gaelic name for
Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. I Loved living in Dunedin
but it was always Colder than more Northern cities !!! Freezing
cold sometimes too :)
