I’m feeling so sad which is utterly stupid of me I know, Kate
and Steve are away for a week travelling down to South and mid
Wales, Steve has not been able to secure a job with sponsorship
here so has accepted the job in Cairns, Kate is unhappy as she
really wanted to stay here for a few years at least, she will
have to find a job in Cairns now, they intend to stay there for
only 6 months and hopefully come back here for Christmas, they
will keep seeing if Steve can get a job here, otherwise they
will head to Sydney area, I just hate to see her so sad, Kate
has written to may mps and the prime minister telling them what
she thinks but I don’t suppose any good will come of it. It’s
just making me feel really miserable, it will pass…..

Honestly I just cannot understand how Steve cannot get a
job.................John says ' he is a White privileged person
' !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE are now a minority race !!!!!!!!!!!!
I Am sure you will be feeling sad and I say Good on Kate for
writing to the MPS .....BUT ..... Do they even see her messages
... !! They are intercepted by ... secretary type people so the
MPS do not get tooooooo much mail !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Been there, done that a few years ago now !!!

Aw I am so sorry to read this

believe that Steve is having so many problems securing a
position with sponsorship. Remind me again, what does he do? He
is a teacher isn't he? John is about right too, if he wore a
turban or hailed Allah he wouldn't have a bloody problem

There are plenty of jobs in Cairns, mainly in the hospitality
area though, it's a backpackers dream place apparently.

Methinks they will be better off in Cairns anyway ... despite
the .... errrrr hot weather :)

I did think he might be a teacher, but I am unsure what he
teaches exactly as I think it's a specialised field for some
reason. Oh well, when Chris comes back, she will tell us.

Yes Steve is a STEM teacher, he has 2 degrees and 2 masters, he
also make the most fabulous bespoke furniture, in fact he can
turn his hand to anything, he also teaches guitar and I am so
annoyed he cannot get a school to sponsor him, the only route
feasible is a partner visa, meaning Kate will have to get a job
here, show 6 months of payslips, Steve to apply for a visa,
hopefully they can fast track it and he can come and join her,
but they would have to to live apart while all this is sorted
out but they remain hopeful it might happen next year.

Ah that's it, I knew it was a specialised field and I am
surprised that he hasn't been grabbed up by a school over there.
It's not fair to have to separate them while they are working
all this out, that would be very hard to do and for such a long
time, not fair at all [emoji22] I will feel my fingers crossed
that this will be sorted soon.

SO Steve has two degrees in what ? .... and 2 Masters in what ?
That all sounds very impressive and maybe he IS TOO well
educated and maybe he knows TOO Much !

This is all familiar to me so maybe we have talked about it
before ! ... and I think I suggested that Steve could maybe
play Thick

If I was Kate then there is no way I would stay in Wales
alone... even with my Mum :)

No Kate will not stay here, she will go to Cairns with Steve and
hopefully find herself a job for 6 months which is all they are
going to stay in Cairns as it will get too hot for them to stay
any longer, I will have to ask what his degrees and masters are
in
