I will try and catch up some more, sorry I’ve not been here and
now I need to go and get some food shopping in, Kate and Steve
are back with us for another week, the rest of their European
trek turned out well, they are despondent that it’s proving so
difficult for Steve to get a teaching job here with sponsorship,
it’s just ridiculous that to get a partner visa here, he would
have to go back to Australia and Kate would have to work here
for 6 months before she could apply to sponsor him, it’s just
not fair, so it looks as though they will be heading to Cairnes
for about 6 months to work, and come back here for Christmas, in
the meantime they will carry on applying for jobs here for
Steve. They have gone to Eifion’s for dinner this evening, next
week they are heading to the Cotswolds and down to South Wales
and then coming back up here via Snowdon as they want to climb
it….pass, I’d get the Tain up 😂 Anyway got to go, hope
you are both ok!

I have heard that getting visas have been made much more
difficult both over there and here, I hope they are able to sort
it all out soon. Cairns is a beautiful place, but it will be
very hot and VERY humid in the summer months, I hope they both
realise this.
Much easier to get the train up to Snowden, bugger walking
it!!!!!!!!

Well maybe IF Steve was to paint his face Black or slant his
eyes them maybe he could get a job in UK !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bloody ridiculous and he speaks English !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can
you not sponsor Steve or even Eifion ?
I thought Kate and Steve did get married in Aus. ..... so he is
a Husband....not just a Partner ? Kate is British so why cannot
Steve get a job ????? I must be so out of date with this kind of
UK stuff :(
Anyway...... I loved their pics. of their Euro trip and I am
sure Steve will love looking around Wales etc. especially
climbing Snowdon :) They are young and can manage it I am sure
....... :)

Yes you are right Moira, it’s so frustrating,he is highly
skilled and the uk is crying out for teachers and the fact they
have been together for 9 years and married a year, they are both
feeling really despondent today ☹️

I am very surprised that Steve is having so many problems with
the UK immigration, have they suddenly become very strict or
something? It seems so strange as Australia is part of the
British Commonwealth!!!!! Can he hire a lawyer to help? Or is
that too expensive? We have agents over here who help people
attain their Australian citizenship, do you have something
similar over there?

I find it very odd especially reading how many..... other
foreign people get in and find work and there is always a NEED
for teachers.... especially IF they are English speaking
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It just does not make sense to me
at all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Exactly Darien, Aus. is part of the British Commonwealth !
WE had no problem whatsoever getting NZ or Aus citizen ship !

The UK is full of migrants, Indians, Pakistans and a lot of
Europeans!!!!!! I do know that these days I would need a visa
to go over there for a holiday now, it's a new thing only
started last year I believe.

OMGoodness really ???????????? YOU as an Aussie would need a
visa to visit England ?? Ridiculous so I wonder IF I DID visit
England ( fat chance I know :) would I be allowed in on my NZ
Passport without a visa ???
Haven't had a UK passport for many, many years !!!!!!! Still got
my old one in the drawer :)

It's only just started in April and I don't know why they have
done it. They claim it will make airport arrival and going
through customs quicker. I found this and what it's all about.
