I think it is the same here too re: blood tests but some have to
be done in a hospital sometimes. Eg. My proper thyroid one. Not
the normal basic blood test one but IF the result is not normal
then I have to go for the more complicated thyroid test in a
hospital.

I don't think Mum or Kylie have ever had to go to a hospital for
a blood test for their thyroid, perhaps they haven't ended to
[emoji848] I will try and remember to ask Kylie when I talk to
her next.

Mum had one of her thyroids taken out if my memory serves me
correct, but she had Graves Disease, it causes the body to make
too much thyroid hormone. Kylie had cancer nodules on her
thyroid and had some radioactive medication to kill them off,
she had to be in isolation for two weeks using her own eating
and drinking utensils and her own bathroom etc. It was
successful, but she is on some medication for it.

We only have ONE thyroid so maybe your Mum had all of hers taken
out or only half / one side of it and I DO remember we have
talked about this before ..... I only needed ONE side taken out
medically but the specialist told me I May need the other side
out later on so in the long run it was better to have it ALL out
in one go and take Thyroxin for ever !!!!!
I remember Kylie and her problem too now that you say what
happened. She never did get her thyroid out right but is on meds
? (((((((((Kylie)))))))))))
That is why I had my thyroid out because of possible cancer
nodules on one side I am sure !

Of course you are right, what was I thinking!!!!!!! Mum had her
thyroid removed fully I believe, it was about 18 years ago now
and I can't remember why now as she was on Thyroxine for years
before that for her Graves Disease.
No Kylie still has her thyroid, but she is on meds for it all
and has it regularly checked.

I have no idea if I feel better minus a thyroid or if I would
feel better with my thyroid !!!!!!!!!!!!! Hahaha Too late now :)
I had mine out ... must be 10 plus years ago ... cannot remember
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do remember when Kylie first had problems with her thyroid and
needed meds. and she did have a hard time getting the meds.
sorted and suitable for her needs. Its hard I understand with
thyroid problems but easier IF you have your thyroid removed
!!!! Medical wise ! SO I was told :)))))))))))))))

Hopefully you will have your thyroid medication sorted out
before too much longer. How are you feeling now? Are you still
very tired all the time?
Thankfully Kylie is sorted with her meds now, at least she
hasn't mentioned otherwise and she would have said so if there
was a problem.

I feel fine nowadays, I think I am just a bit bored and do not
have much to do all day ! So I just sit around and feel tired
doing that !!!!!!!!!!!!The wet, rainy and windy weather does not
help any !!!!!!!
Today I decided to clear out my old magazines.... I have about
80 taking up space ( in the book case and on the spare chair !!!
) ... from various Op shops etc. !!! I intended to take them to
the Rubbish dump today ......... but it kept raining so I sat
down looking through them !!!!!!!!!!! Never even had a nana nap
!!!!!!!!!!!!! I Might NOT dump ALL Of them
:))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) Hahaha some of them have some
interesting stuff in them.... All DIY and Housekeeping type
mags. Maybe I just need another book case !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your thyroid can play up in meno too. Wasn't Kylie having some
meno problems earlier on ?

No doubt you are very bored, you are used to being constantly
busy with the kids and now they aren't there, what do you have
to do?? You will have to find another hobby, one that is held
inside and out of the cold. Start up some of this DIY stuff you
have in your magazines.
It was so cold here yesterday, it only got to 10C here during
the day and the cold wind and rain made it feel much colder.
Robert had to go out to the Drs for a check up, so we decided to
go to have some lunch together while we were out. We went down
to Westfields as we had to return one of suitcases as the handle
broke when we were in Cairns, they are still under warrantee. So
we went to the Bavarian restaurant for lunch and I had a
delicious pork belly with mash potatoes, it was delish. At least
I didn't have to cook tea as we didn't feel like anything.
Menopause may have caused Kylie's thyroid problems, but I don't
really think so myself, she is having little to no symptoms of
meno. Belinda on the other hand is having a few problems, so I
just remind her that she will make it through.
