Hmm well I suppose I am not a fan of beach sunbathing or even
swimming really. But I do love beaches. Nice to walk along a
beach and maybe sit and read a book ........... and watch the
waves but what else ?
Been there done that in my youth :)))))))))))) Southern Spain,
Corfu and Sardinia, all along the French Riviera. Plus Morocco,
Algeria and Tunisian beaches... and the wee Greek Island of
Ithaka ....... not forgetting Ischia and Sardinia and Corsica
and the Island of Elba :)))))))))))
BUT also not to forget Newquay in Cornwall UK :)))))))))
You have got my mind going back to my travel days now
:)))))))))))))

All those beautiful places. Did I know you had been to Ithaca?
My Mum’s father’s family comes from there and Athens!!!!!!!

Did I know your Mum's father came from Ithaca ???? S Moira and I
got a boat from Tunisia to Messino on the Island of Sicily then
after having a look around Sicily we got the boat across from
Messina to Reggio de Calabria on the main Island then hitched
around the foot of Italy up the West coast to Bari then another
boat to the Isle of Corfu then another boat to Ithaka ... a
nicer Island than Corfu ... not so many tourists back then
!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We did finally get to Patras then into Athens :)
ON the way back to .. Spain .. as we were running out of
money..... we did think of hitching up through Albania and
Yugoslavia as it was then .......but we were not allowed through
Albania as we had British Passports and it was a Communist
country !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO we just got the boat back from
Athens to Bari and hitched from there :)
Good memories :))))))))))

I can’t remember if I ever have mentioned it before, but I
probably have as surely I have mentioned my Greek
heritage!!!!??????

YES you have mentioned your Greek Heritage but not many Greek
places as far as I can remember :) I was thinking about it last
night in bed and I think YOU did mention Ithaca one time !!!!
Old Memories for me and I have talked of my travel trips before
so you probably did mention about your Grandad coming from
there :)
Have you ever been to visit ????? I DO Have a vague memory of
someone I know going to the Greek Islands ................. :)

We were thinking of doing a Greek Island ship cruise, but we
have decided we won't be doing that now at this stage as the
flight itself knocks me about these days. which is why I doubt I
will ever get to see Europe at all now.

That is sad as the Greek Islands are gorgeous BUT I can
certainly understand about the flying
