MY big mouth :)

I went shopping to Whanganui today because I could and also
there was a big garage sale on BUT I could not find it !
Anyway I went Countdown ... errr now Woolies .... and it was
about mid day ... but they only had those DIY checkouts working
....NOT MY STYLE. SO an older lady ( well she looked older than
me ) very nicely dressed too and I Stood at an EMPTY checkout
...... WAITING.. then 3 other old looking people joined in the
queue behind us .... So I had to raise my Voice to get some
attention to get some service ............[emoji12] I had to
stand and Wave my arms and in a LOUD voice ask for some service
:))))))))))))
Finally a YOUNG girl was sent to the checkout where we were all
waiting ..... She checked my stuff through ( about 8 items ! )
BUT she made a mistake apparently and could not FIX it so she
had to RING for help! OK fine by me she was obviously new to the
job BUT NO ONE came to help.. so we all waited longer .....
UNTIL I once again raise my voice and Raised my arms shouting
for assistance !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The people waiting in my queue were all chuckling so we were all
having a good laugh and of course I had to raise my voice again
to get some service :)))))) Along came an assistant ... female I
think but she was almost bald ..... with just some blonde spiky
hair ....and she apologised for the wait and the fact that the
new girl had made a mistake.
IT was actualleh quite comical in the end most entertaining !
They will probably ban me next time I go !~

Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha...........I can actually see you
shouting and waving your hands for assistance [emoji23] You
should have been given a choice really, they can't make you use
the self serve check outs, so go you ((((((((((Moira))))))))))

They DO normally have at least ONE checkout girl / man / person
working but there were NONE yesterday and it was around lunch
time .....BUT it was a Saturday !!!!
I was chuckling to myself in bed last night thinking about it I
do have to say and it is NOT the first time I have had to create
havoc wanting service ... I think it was in Countdown before too
but one in the Auckland area !
WHY should we do our own checkouts ?????????????????? We pay
enough for the products anyway !!!!!!!!!! I know enough

If I am only getting one or two items I will use the self
checkout ones, but if I am doing a full shop, I will use the
normal check outs, it doesn't bother me either way. I know there
are a lot of people who won't use them though, which is their
choice. People shouldn't be made to use them though.

I HAVE used the self checkouts once or twice when I too had just
a few items but if I do not have my specs with me it is not a
good idea and Anyway WHY Should I ????????

I agree, if you don't want to use them, you shouldn't have to
and it was your right to ask for service. In the UK they are
using trolleys that you can shop with and pay each item as it
goes into the trolley, can you imagine how much Tesco's etc lose
by using them?? Way too many dishonest people out there for
that.

Bugger I Am sure they lose a whole heap of money !!!!!!!! What a
stupid idea ! Do they have people on the door to check receipts
maybe ?

They do have people checking it as they have a different service
area, Chris will know much better than I how it really works. I
have never used them myself, I just put items in my trolley and
go to the cashier like I do here at home.

I don't think I have ever seen them do it anywhere ! How can you
pay for each item as you put it in your trolley ?
They do have DIY self service checkouts here .... maybe 10 all
next to each other and you do it yourself but they do have the
odd person walking around checking .... Self checkouts !

You don't pay for each item separately, it's like a checkout as
you are shopping and you pay at the end when you take the
trolley and the payment machine back. I found this and
apparently Woolworths is starting to use them as well over
here!!!
