       Check up
By: DarienJ Date: February 11, 2025, 2:54 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Went down to the clinic yesterday and I was in and out in just
over 3 mins!! Very efficient system they have, you go to the
desk and they check you in and check your mobile number as the
Dr will text you when it's your turn to go in, it tells you
which corridor to go down and which room number to go to. We had
no sooner sat down when the message came through, so we went to
the room and almost straight away the Dr came in and went over a
few things, then she took all the bandaging off to expose my
foot. It felt good to have it all removed, they were very
pleased with the wounds and then the nurse removed all the
stitches and put plasters on the wounds, put on a sock thingy
and sent me on my way. I go back down on the 11th Match to have
the bones checked, via an X-Ray and to have the pin removed.
I took photos of my foot, if you want to see them, I will put
them up on our FB page.

WHAT ?????????????? All over in JUST 3 minutes ? So do you
still need the walker thing to help you walk ???? And do you
have to keep going for another month before they decide anything
       ?

That’s really good service Darien and I’m pleased to hear it’s
       all healing well.

Sorry, that was meant to read 30 minutes. I have not needed the
walker or the scooter as I have been able to hobble around on my
heel in that special boot thing they gave me. This visit was the
wound clinic apparently and to have the stitches removed. The
next visit will be 6 weeks post op and that will be to check all
the bone work they did has healed correctly, via X-Ray. They
will remove the pin in my toe then too. From that day I will be
going to physiology to strengthen my foot again after not using
it for so long. Same as having plaster on my leg really.

I am not supposed to be using my foot, unless to go to the
bathroom. The less I use my foot, the better it will
mend......now if only Robert realised that!!!!!

Yes.....sigh. He is exhausted going to work and then coming home
and having to do his 'domestic chores'!!!! Honestly all he does
is the washing and cooking and obviously that is too much for
him. No too exhausted to go to golf though. I have not said a
word to him about it, it would do no good anyway, but it is very
hurtful, I am obviously not important enough to look after
properly. I usually end up having to make the bed, I can't do it
every day though, just when I have had enough. If I use my foot
       too much it aches terribly.

Bugger, typical male but I had forgotten that He still goes to
work daily .. I thought he worked from home most days.
How on earth do you manage by yourself during the day them ???
John would not even have any idea how to do the washing or even
make the bed ... NOT that the bed takes much making as I just
pull back the duvet half way to air the bed and straighten the
sheets and pillows. No good at cooking either !!!!!!!!!!
I would just leave the bed .. maybe pull back the covers to air
       it then leave it !

PS: I know I have said it before....... If only I lived closer I
       could help :)[emoji170]

Robert is usually home by 8am!!!! He only works a few hours in
the morning, on the odd occasion he may be later, about 9.30am.
Robert had no idea how to use the washing machine, I had to show
him and as for the bed, that's all I have been doing, just
pulling the quilt down to air the bed, but the quilt bushes up a
bit in the cover, so once a week I have been fluffing it back up
so my foot doesn't get all caught up in it. He has only vacuumed
once and that was when I asked him to. Thank goodness Chrissy is
coming once a week to change the sheets and clean the house for
       me.
