       [font=times new roman]I began work in a Salvation Army drying
       out centre in London and when some of the young salvationists
       heard they had a Pentecostal in their midst they became very
       excited. They knew their history how that in the beginning the
       Army besides clothing and feeding folk and putting a roof over
       their heads it was also a mighty soul-winning movement.
       They decided to hold a prayer meeting in the young sergeant's
       room and invited me along.
       When I arrived there were 5 of them lounging in various
       positions of ease. One was sitting on the floor lotus style,
       another had one leg draped over the arm of his chair, still
       another was stretched out on the bed. They were going to get the
       Holy Ghost.
       I said "what would happen if there was a knock on the door and
       the Lord Jesus walked in?"
       It freaked them out "I'd be under this bed quicker than you
       could say Sally Anne ....I'd jump out the window ... I would
       lock myself in the loo" but then they got serious and when they
       thought about it they said we would kneel down and worship Him.
       I said okay let's do it, faith is a fact but faith is an act the
       bible says "when Jesus SAW their faith ..."
       So we all knelt down and raised our hands and called out to the
       Lord "Lord we love You, we are so happy to be in Your presence,
       we wish that You would bless us in a special way" it started off
       a little mechanically but pretty soon our hearts were melted and
       we really were worshipping  and the mighty presence of the Holy
       Spirit filled that place.
       Then there came a knock on the door.
       They all looked at me aghast, it was so real, they  thought it
       really was Jesus knocking at the door.
       I jumped up and opened the door and there was a great big gauche
       yorkshire lad, 17 years old, at the door. He had stolen a
       woman's purse and run away to London and the Army was looking
       after him until his case came up. He said in his broad yorkshire
       brogue "I don't know why I am here, I was passing by and a voice
       said "knock on this door."
       I grabbed the startled youth's arm and yanked him into the room
       "we know why you are here" I pulled him down to his knees and
       said "call out to the Lord to save you" and we resumed our
       worship and he joined us. "Jesus save me, come into my heart
       too"
       He became a beautiful christian and the first of quite a few at
       that place who got saved. We witnessed the Lord doing wonderful
       things to confirm the gospel we were sharing. And God didn't
       just use us but He started using some of the more senior
       officers who had been a little skeptical about what was going
       on.
       Yorky joined us down Leicester Square on our soulwinning, he
       didn't know much but he would go up to people and say in broad
       yorkshire "Jesus loves thee tha' knows ... [/font]
