Re: THE GOSPEL OF THOMAS

I love the Gospel of Thomas.
It's interesting to say the least, and I believe an important
independent account that was set aside without good reason.
Keep in mind- this may well be the account of Judas- one of
Jesus' own twin brothers. Didymos Judas
Thomas... It literally means Judas, the twin.
Did Jesus have brothers? Yes. And sisters too. (as recorded in
both Matthew and Mark)
“Is not this the carpenter’s son? Is not His mother called
Mary, and His brothers, James and Joseph and Simon and Judas?
“And His sisters, are they not all with us?
So one of his brothers-- Judas, -was a twin. That means that
there was a Judas Thomas (twin) and possibly a Joseph Jr Thomas
(twin) or a James Thomas or a Simon Thomas.... do you see?
It's not that Jesus was a twin. It was that he had brothers who
were twins. OR- just as possible Judas had a twin sister, who
goes unnamed in those gospel accounts. Twin doesn't have to
mean "identical twin" and it could mean fraternal twins (which
don't look alike and can be opposite sex). In fact, one male
and one female that make up a set of twins is the most common
scenario.
Something to ponder. But this Gospel of -the twin' is the
gospel of Judas. We have another book attributed to this same
brother of Jesus named Judas, but we call his book the book of
Jude.

Why was this gospel of Judas discredited and left out of the
canon of official scripture? They buried it. They didn't like
it. --but then it turned up again in December of 1945 with the
discovery of the Nag Hamadi library collection-- unblemished.
So why did the early 'church' leaders reject it?
Stuff like this--
When you come to know yourselves, then you will become known,
and you will realize that it is you
who are the sons of the living father. But if you will not know
yourselves, you dwell in
poverty and it is you who are that poverty."

[/quote]Occult and Luciferian teachings go back to the Beginning
and the main theme is "being gods" - that's why I reject
anything that hints at "self" and being as "gods" or God
Himself. I believe that people are good and evil we are consumed
with ourselves and OUR needs and lusts and desires. What's the
word Calvinists use to describe us all? Deplorable? :D Total
Depravity -

It doesn't hint at us 'being gods' rather it says we are sons
of God in exactly the same manner that Jesus described us.
John 10 (quoting Ps 82)
1 Cor 3
Gal 3 and Gal 4
Romans 8
John 1
2 Cor 6
Hosea 1
Rom 9
Luke 6
1 John 3
Luke 20
Rev 21
Is 53
Heb 2
John 11
how's that for a start?
