A little chinese girl

[font=times new roman]I was preaching in Hyde Park London and
the place was packed with the Sisters of mercy nuns in their
familiar white habits. A little chinese girl saw my bible and
came rushing over and blurted "oh I wish I could have a pure
heart and wear a white robe"[/font]
[font=times new roman]In my heart I cried to God to give me
wisdom to speak to her, she was about 17 years old and very
pretty.[/font]
[font=times new roman]I said " well you could put a white robe
on but it'd still be you, just wearing a white robe" her face
fell and she sadly admitted it was true.[/font]
[font=times new roman]"But you can have a pure heart before you
leave this park today" she did not look very sure of this but I
showed her my bible and pointed to Peter 1. "Himself bare our
sins in His own body on the tree that we being dead unto sin
might live unto righteousness"[/font]
[font=times new roman]She grabbed my bible and stared down
almost fiercely at the words as if demanding they should explain
themselves. "it says He bore your sins ... you'd have a pure
heart wouldn't you?"[/font]
[font=times new roman]Her face took on an anguished look and I
could see she was struggling desperately to understand what I
was saying.[/font]
[font=times new roman]I pointed dramatically to a nearby tree
and cried "look! there He is hanging by nails ... He's bearing
your sins."[/font]
[font=times new roman]There was a sudden intake of breath and
her hands went to her mouth as understanding came to her.[/font]
[font=times new roman]I asked "do you think if we prayed here in
Hyde Park God would hear us pray?" she did.[/font]
[font=times new roman]She asked God to wash away her sins and
grant her a new pure heart and be her Lord from that day
forward. I watched in awe as she was born again. She had bowed
over to the waist in deep reverence to pray but suddenly she
lifted up, her face took on a radiance of joy.[/font]
[font=times new roman]And she ran away into the crowd.[/font]
[font=times new roman]I thought that's odd, Lord I know she was
saved but she ran away. 15 minutes later I saw her again herding
4 great big tall fellas towards me and she begged me "please,
please explain it to my friends like you explained it to
me"[/font]
[font=times new roman]Unfortunately her tour escort was
gathering them all up, insistent that they rejoin the bus. I
shouted to her as she was being steered away that she must be
the one to explain to them and managed to get some literature
with addresses into her hand.[/font]
[font=times new roman]She reminded me so much of the woman of
Samaria who as soon as she found Christ ran off to tell her
friends about Him. [/font]
