As always I urge you not believe a word that is written in this
thread but rather be a good Berean and find out for yourself in
Acts 17:11......For GOD in Pro 25:2..(KJV).."It is the glory of
God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out
a matter."

Not sure I agree with all this and not sure I am a fan of
Calvinism in some aspects, but this was very educational and
excellent presentation

Hi Mark...let me ask you a question. I know you believe in God's
WORD yet you do not appear to believe in the Doctrine of
Calvinism. I personally do not believe in everything Calvin
stated. The Words of GOD tell us everything that are in the five
points of Tulip.
You do believe in Free-Will and so do I. How does GOD reconcile
Free-Will and His Predestined (the Elect) doctrine. I do not
know but each time i think about them, I come closer to an
answer. One day, maybe.
Another question for you my friend?
Do you believe a person that has salvation and the Holy Spirit
can stray away from God so much.....so much that Jesus would
utter these words to Him/her, "I know you not" when the Rapture
happens? (Ten Virgins, Mat 25)

There are parts of Calvin I agree with. But overall I would not
categorize myself as a Calvinist.
I struggle with all of the things you asked. My issue is I have
no good answer to any of those. If I started trying to type
and answer I would be writing and deleting for a few hours
trying to find a good answer of my own. Like you maybe someday
I will be able to give a solid reasonable reply.
In the meantime let me think about it and I will try.

Lol mark,,, I see you are on the right track. prayer will help.
If it helps, Paul did not know either....Gal 2:20.....
I am not sure my answer was a solid reply for I still have
questions that I keep trying to find the answers but this
election vs Free-will I have come to the conclusion I believe
both of them to be biblical and my pay grade is not high enough
to answer how God resolves these two issues.
Ass MacArthur once said: "I feel your pain"
Oh, by the way, did you know that MacArthur took 45 years and
went through the NT word by word, verse by verse, references to
the OT by reference.
Not many will do that but it is the only way to get the truth
out of His Word. The more I read and apply literal ,
historical, grammatical, synthetic hermeneutics, the more
literal I get.

Amazing the time he spent. He has one of the few commentaries
series that does not push an agenda, but a belief.
45 years, just amazing.

yes, it is and as you have said, the only thing He pushes is the
WORD (S) of GOD and His authority and sovereignty
Good insight Mark.
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false
prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that,
if it were possible, they shall deceive the very
elect.
A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife,
vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to
teach;
3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but
patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in
subjection with all gravity;
5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he
take care of the church of God?)
6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the
condemnation of the devil.
7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without;
lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
8 Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not
given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;
9 Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
10 And let these also first be proved; then let them use the
office of a deacon, being found blameless.
11 Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober,
faithful in all things.
12 Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their
children and their own houses well.
13 For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase
to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith
which is in Christ Jesus.
14 These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee
shortly:
15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest
to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of
the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
