The Gate....

My study right now is taking me to the temple/tabernacle and
they symbolism there. The first and I am just beginning the
study so lots to talk about....is the gate. There are
essentially two gates, the outer gate and the gate that leads to
the holy of holies.
As my husband and I were talking about it today there were two
very exciting (to us) things that came up.
First, because of Hebrews 13:12, Matthew 7:13 and others we
believe that the gate to the temple/tabernacle is a symbol for
Christ.
1. This is shown through Christ being the path to a relationship
with the Living God and all the other symbolic things in the
temple/tabernacle flow from Christ, the gate to all these good
things and
2. It is His suffering and death and resurrection that brings us
into the temple/tabernacle (just to clarify our understanding,
we are the temple today, for the HS dwells within all believers)
and our access to the holy of holies, or the throne of the
Living God comes through His "job" as intercessor. Heb. 4:14-16
or so
I would also like to enter into the OP start of the discussion I
Chron. 9 where guards were placed at the gate for the purpose of
keeping out all things defiled. Shouldn't we also have "guards"
like the bible and prayer to guard against defiling God's
"human" temples from the unrighteousness that does NOT reside
with righteousness...? 2 Corinthians 6:14-17
More to come though it will be a slow process so that I can
learn all I can.
