Mr E, thank you again brother for helping me and on this thread
topic I recently had a series of dreams where I knew I was
dreaming and was able to stay in the dream longer each time and
I felt as though I had left my body. Very curious.

Fun fact.... Carl Jung was a psychologist who did a lot of
research and study on the subject of dreams... he didn't
consider them to be fantasy, but a window into the
subconscious... into the spiritual realm.
He's considered one of the founders of alcoholics anonymous in
that his studies and work with one patient in particular became
the inspiration for the self-help movement and wellness support
groups.
It was more than that.... under the influence of alcohol many
people lose their inhibitions and self-control. There's a
reason that we often call alcohol-- "spirits" and the connection
to the spiritual world seems to open itself to some degree when
we lose our grip on this sense of self. Jung said concerning
the addiction some experience with alcohol, to be not a physical
craving, but a spiritual longing... in fact, a desire to be
apart from ourselves, and to commune with God.
“on a low level, of the spiritual thirst of our being for
wholeness, expressed in medieval language: the union with God.”

E

Years ago before my dad passed, I had a dream where I found
myself listening to three mentors (Drs.) who were at the
hospital where I worked, two of which had recently died. Now I
am not saying that they came back to speak to me but rather the
Holy Spirit used their faces and the voice of one (only one
spoke and only two of the faces were clear, the third person was
in a cloud, identifiable yes but also still alive) to send me a
message that would take 2 years to complete.
The Dr. that spoke told me to tell my father (their close friend
and associate) "not to worry because everything up here was
wonderful"
He then proceeded to give me a 'golden watch' and then all of
them disappeared.
I woke to a cold sweat, scaring my wife half to death. Not able
to get back to sleep, I sat up all night and tried to unravel
just what had happened. Needless to say it did not unravel.
For two years, I thought of this every day, re-living it, seeing
it as it actually happened, the same way I am telling/seeing it
here today. I told no one about this experience except my wife
during this time except!
Those two years were agony. Why would I tell my dad about a
dream I had, he would think I was crazy. The timing of telling
him was a big problem. I asked myself time and time again,'When
should I tell him'... For two years I put this off each day only
now recognizing that GOD knew the correct time and place to tell
him. It become apparent that He would also let me know when it
was time to tell him.
Two years later, my father lay on his death bed at home. His
wife was begging him to "let go" for it was ok. Something
brought me to the bedroom, asking her if I could speak to dad.
Dad was out of it, just lingering not letting go. I walked to
the other side of the bed, bent down to his ear and told him of
what his friend had told me to tell him. immediately a
noticeable change came over him and within two minutes he drew
his last breath. There were no words between us as the last
words between us had happened a couple of days before. Just the
words GOD told me to tell him.
During the visitation period prior to the funeral, I was
speaking to the son of the Dr who had spoken to me in the dream.
He had recently become a Dr in his own right and had come back
home, although too late to work with his father at the clinic.
I told him about the dream, yet was hesitant telling him about
the 'golden watch' his father had given me. (before I go on,
while we worked together, his father was a Dr. and I was not. We
were friends but only through family ties between him and my
father. I had never received any kind of gift from him even at
Christmas.)
To continue, much to my surprise, my friend, his son told me his
father had given him a golden watch one day. The fact that He
still had it, said that it had value of some sort between those
two..
Finally, all of my dream had worked itself out or so I
thought...Six months later, the young Dr, my friend and I were
talking and the subject gradually progress to the relationship
of his and my fathers. He then told me that he had been an
atheist and had come to a decision that there was a GOD. He had
even began going to a church on Sundays. Only then I realized my
dream was a message for both of us.
While I believed in Jesus at this time and relied on him to get
us through these difficult, heartbreaking times, I do not feel I
had been saved. Yes, my heart and mind during my youth had been
changed to accept Jesus but up to then I could not say I had
been saved with certainty. My friend on the other had gone from
being an atheist to believing in Jesus. I have never asked if He
has been saved or not, mainly because I feel this is a deeply
personal event between oneself and GOD!
Shortly after our (my friend) last conversation, I became saved
out in a field on the farm one evening after thanking GOD for
bringing my friend to Him and giving rest/comfort to my father
in his time of need. At the time, I did not realize it but my
prayers would be answered far more that I could imagine. From
that DAY on, my life style changed completely ( I repented,
changed the direction I was headed), to include ravenously
searching out God's word in the Bible day and night, sometimes
16 hours per day. I try to be here on this forum and another
every evening and still write a blog named sharing God's Word
among other activities here on the farm and work. I am loving
every minute of it!
I will say that I was asked by my step mother about what I had
said to Dad that night all those years ago. I immediately told
her the story. She passed on peacefully two years later with
Jesus' name on her lips.
I apologize that this post is so long but it is hard to get what
happened across to others without including some of the steps
that I had to travel.
May all have a great evening watching GOD's creations chirp,
tweet, growl, etc. We all are very fortunate and Blessed by a
GOD that loves us dearly.

I'm glad that you had this experience Blade. So many people are
too quick to dismiss their dreams as meaningless or
insignificant nonsense. The fact is that they dismiss what they
don't understand. I could give them a sheet of code that
consists of nothing but ones and zeroes and they might think the
same thing. Is it meaningless? Not in the least-- they just
don't grasp the meaning. But within the context of a program
those 1's and 0's are a language and more than that-- they tell
a story, paint a picture, they interact, interpret, direct and
guide. Dreams are windows of truth often misunderstood, but
truth nonetheless. They are like the seeds taken by birds and
distributed across the whole earth.

Thanks you Mr. E... although it was not like I could get away
(forget) it, for it was with me everyday for those two years and
even today, I have not forgotten any detail.
Have a blessed day, my friend
Blade
