I had one of those surreal ones where you are not sure if it was
a dream or a vision again. I was on the beach in an ancient
city. A figure in all white is walking towards me.
He walks right up to me, he is hooded and his face mostly in
shadows. Just the lower part where a beard is shown. He gently
lays a hand on my shoulder.
He states in a soft calm voice "We have shown you your path, why
have you not taken it?"
He turns and walks away, and dissolved into the ether as he
walks away.
That was it. I woke, like wide awake feeling serene and worried
both.

The difference between dream and vision is most semantics. In a
dream, you participate. What I mean is-- it is 'you' standing
there speaking with the man and interacting with him. A vision,
to offer a contrast- is simply where you "see" things, and don't
necessarily take part... i.e. "I saw something like a great
mountain, cast into the sea..." The two lines are easily
blurred because what begins as a vision, can quickly become a
dream when someone speaks to you as happened in your dream. It
began as a vision of an ancient city alongside the sea... the
only way you could perceive this "scene" is to see it, or if
someone tells you about it. From your telling, it was what you
saw- and I can see the same imagery from your words like I'm
watching it on a screen as you tell-a-vision. I hope that
helps.
In spirit-- and that's how I prefer to relate these things as it
doesn't really matter if you refer to these things seen as
visions or dreams, but you are out of your physical body- apart
from it, so to understand the things that happen in spirit you
must learn to separate the physical 'you' that is sleeping in
your bed, from the spiritual 'you' who is visiting this city of
old. They are the same, but different. How can I best explain
this?
When you (the physical you) go camping and you sleep under the
stars in a tent at night for shelter and comfort, you then get
up in the morning and exit your tent and head out for the day's
adventure, whatever that may be according to your purpose and
intent. Now understand that from the spiritual perspective
'you' --the physical you that you call your body-- is that tent.
Scripture supports this idea using the very same imagery. But
it is just the opposite mechanism that occurs. When you quiet
yourself- your physical body (including your mind) as when
sleeping, or meditating, or in prayer perhaps, or when one loses
consciousness, or by some other means like anesthesia or with
drugs and such, or as with a coma-- to include extreme
examples... if and when you are able to quiet yourself- that
spirit that is 'you' gets up and is free to head out for the
day's adventure, whatever that may be, as called according to a
purpose. It isn't as though when you are physically awake that
this spirit sleeps, for it has no need for it. The spirit
within you leads and guides and comforts and serves you to
whatever degree you are willing to listen and be guided in your
daily life. But when you rest and are quiet- the spirit is able
to depart the earthly tent (that is you) and experience
spiritual things-- as happened in your dream.
The ancient city is spiritual, not a physical place, but an
understanding that it is 'a place of understanding' that is
ancient-- from of old- that has always been. The beach, or
'seashore' is that place between the spiritual city and the sea
of humanity (in the spiritual sense) which might be difficult to
understand, but that is what the sea represents and that is
where you came from to arrive on this beach beside this ancient
city.
The one who came to speak to you was, like that city from which
he came, an ancient one (with some whiskers) with authority and
in righteousness he spoke words of wisdom to you that you should
heed. Now understand the 'you' he was speaking to and what it
was he said to that spiritual you. The shrouded man was guiding
what is in effect your guide. In your quiet times listen now to
that inner voice from within you. The one in your tent, for
that one knows what it is you should do... He knows your path.

message.
I am not dismissing it, but confused on the full impact and the

Again, it wasn’t the physical “you” that was shown. So the
answers you seek are not found in your mind, but in your heart
of hearts.

I think I know for whats in my heart of hearts is to accept an
offer to be ordained into a church and to take on the research
and re-writing of rituals and rites for them.
But I have hesitate as the reaction of those closest to me is
smirks, laughs and doubts as that is so far removed from the me
they think they know
