We are told to Love one another....so let's say that Joe comes
to you and says, I was just diagnosed with cancer, please pray
for me.
Keeping in mind the Lord's prayer as well as the Love Chapter, I
Corinthians 13, what would a prayer of Love look like....might
be a trick question but should open up some great discussion if
we all keep a level head and just have a great discussion.
What if you don't feel the love?
I prayed for an enemy and I didn't feel love. That was the only
time I remember praying for someone when I didn't feel love.

So we can add another layer to this discussion. That of
sacrificial prayers.
On another forum, I was once asked to pray for a woman who
needed to move. We also needed to move (long story) as I was
praying, God asked me what I was willing to give that she could
move. I said to God that we both could move, HE was big enough
to do that. To which God said to me, that is not the question.
Hahaha....after sometime, I accepted that I was willing to stay
where we were if God would move her...within the week she moved
and we were still in our situation. today we have a miracle
house and property but the point is, are we willing to do our
part for the person we are praying for?
But another thing we don't think about much is that God hears
the prayers of the righteous but turns from the unrighteous.
There is often times a lot of talk about whether or not we have
to obey, but if we want power behind our prayers, we need to be
obedient and maintain a right relationship with God.
Just some thoughts to think about.

Lori, I see a pattern with your posts and threads and that's
only with glancing briefly at what you post. You are putting
heavy emphasis on obeying and you are placing yourself AGAIN
under the yoke of bondage.
You will continue to have doubts and you will lack confidence
and boldness, just my opinion. I think you compare yourself to
others and you think you are righteous and that you obey God.
You will be free in Christ when you finally stop thinking this
way.

I definitely don't think I am more righteous than others, in
fact, Brian and I were talking this week about how unrighteous I
see myself and how hard that is for me, not because I want to be
perfect but because I want to be a pleasing aroma to the King of
Kings and Lord of Lords.
That said, not only do I appreciate your words and prayerfully
consider them but I also will say this. I do not feel in
bondage at all, I feel passionate about pleasing my Lord and
King and there is a huge difference between the two.
I know I seem harsh sometimes, but it's only the
impression I got from minimal reading. I see the titles though
and I love what you do here and at TF with the great topics you
create. God bless you and I'm sure you have some opinions of me
that may or may not be completely accurate. I feel really
inadequate in righteousness but I have confidence that I am
saved and sealed. If I'm wrong in the end at least I enjoyed
life believing I am saved and sealed, ha haha !!!

I appreciate knowing how others see me as long as it is spoken
in Love (how I took your comments, no worries) Sometimes I
wonder how people cannot see how much I struggle to be all I can
be in Christ since I try to be open about all those struggles.
Yet some see it and others don't...confusing lol
I am just passionate about the Living God and that oozes out of
everything I do and say and believe. That is all....right now I
am working on how to train in righteousness so righteousness
will come up a lot. Next (I think, not sure yet) is the OT
temple/tabernacle and how the old law informs us of the wonders
of Christ's sacrifice and suffering for us being saved by grace.
I was in a class that taught it eons ago and it had a huge
impact on me then, I figure it will be even more powerful when I
do the study myself but I am also sure that will stir a lot of
threads about the symbolism between the old covenant and the new
one.

I think what you're saying, and correct me if I'm wrong, is that
our words, deeds and actions affect our relationship with God.
So if we want power behind our prayers, then our words, deeds
and actions need to be in harmony with what God would want us to
do and say and act in accordance with what the scriptures teach
is approved by God and what He wants us to do and how He wants
us to live our lives every day. That would be a living faith.;
and not act in such a way against what God would want us to do
and say and that includes our actions. So by taking this into
account, we can maintain a right relationship with God.
