How far are you willing to go to Love others?

Philippians 2:1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ,
if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any
bowels and mercies, 2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be like minded,
having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. 3 Let
nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of
mind let each esteem other better than themselves. 4Look not
every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of
others.
Before we move forward in this discussion, some will try to
argue that putting others above ourselves is not Love but if we
look at the context (my reason for including it) we see that it
is Love....so that being said, how far are you willing to go to
Love others?
A couple of examples, last night I had the opportunity to watch
a movie I had waited over 30 years to watch...what if someone
had called and needed to talk? would I have Loved them enough
to miss the movie yet again?
Another example, I was having severe lung spasms. They took so
much out of me we decided if I had spasms on Sat. night we
wouldn't go to church Sun. so I could recuperate. One Sat.
night I had bad spasms but got a phone call from a friend, her
daughter wanted to go back to church but didn't feel comfortable
sitting by herself, would I let her sit with us? I could choose
to stay home or choose to go to church. If putting others best
interest above my own is Love which should I choose?
The world teaches us to take care of ourselves so we can care
for others...scripture teaches to put others above self and let
God take care of us....how far are you willing to go for Love?
