And when the even was come they brought unto Him many that were

       Hi Blade
My emphasis was on "that it might be fulfilled which was spoken
by Esaias Himself took our infirmities and bare our diseases"
The question must be when did He take our infirmities and bare
       our diseases?
We understand that the passage in Isaiah relates to the cross,
He bore the sins of many but here He took our infirmities and
       bare our diseases.
Therefore healing is a provision of the cross.

I am a great fan of the Reformation, what streams of light have
flowed upon the hearts and minds of Christian men and women,
what blessings, what insights into God's grace.
The old mysticism and superstitions are gone, fled away like
       cockcroaches before the light.
How simply the new day dawned, one scripture that struck home to
Luther's heart like it had been the sun coming out on a cloudy
day "the just shall live by faith"
Here he had been climbing up some stone steps on his knees as a
penance, desperate for God to bless him. "the just shall live by
       faith"
It had always been in the bible.
There's plenty of stuff in the bible, we haven't barely
       scratched the surface.
Suppose God had said "the sick shall be healed by faith?"
Faith in what? faith in God's word, that's how we got saved
wasn't it. We heard that Jesus had borne our sins in His own
body on the tree, we heard about being born again, filled with
the Holy Spirit. And we saw that these things were written in
       scripture.
We can only have faith by hearing God say a thing, maybe not
audibly but if we understand from the scripture that God has
said a thing then we can have faith that this is God's will for
       us.
God's will and God's word are the same, if you want to know
God's will concerning a matter read His word.
Look at Jesus, He came down not to do His own will but to do the
       will of the Father.
What did He do? Did He pardon sins? that's God's will, did He
       turn anyone away?
did he heal any who were sick? that's God's will … did He
tell anyone to go and bear their sickness for God's glory?
For this purpose was the Son of God made manifest that He might
destroy the works of the devil. And He healed them all.

       [/quote]
as soon as you say many have been healed you throw up all kinds
of questions, yes glory to Jesus, healings in the bible always
brought glory to God, nobody thought having leprosy was a
       blessing.
You could say many have been saved through the WORD of GOD
Who were saved through the WORD of GOD? the answer is as many as
came to Him for salvation, as many as did receive Him to them
gave He power to become the sons of God. He turned nobody away.
Suppose He had turned some away … it's unthinkable isn't it,
that anyone who would listen carefully to the gospel and who
would truly want to be saved and who would come to Jesus to be
saved would be turned away. No evangelical of whatever shade or
stripe they are can bear such a proposal.
Who were healed through the WORD of God? the answer is the same,
as many as came to Him for healing, He turned nobody away.
You have to be SURE that God wants to save you, hearing or
reading God's word will bring that assurance
You have to be SURE that God wants to heal you, hearing or
reading God's word should bring you that assurance.
God's will and God's word are the same "Lord if Thou wilt Thou
canst make me clean … I will, be thou clean"
       That is God's will.
