Secret Since the World Began
HTML http://graceambassadors.com/mystery/secret-since-the-world-began
By Justin Johnson
Nearly two thousand years ago God revealed information that was
secret since the world began to the chief persecutor of Christ
and the twelve.
“Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of
God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;
Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from
generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:” – Col
1:25-26
Paul was saved by God’s grace and was chosen to make known the
preaching of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of this
mystery.
“Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my
gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the
revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world
began,” – Rom 16:25
This secret, albeit concerning the Lord Jesus Christ, stands in
contradistinction to the information that the twelve disciples
were preaching.
Peter in his message in Jerusalem after Pentecost spoke of Jesus
Christ according to prophecy “which God hath spoken by the mouth
of all his holy prophets since the world began” (Acts 3:21).
Peter taught things that were spoken by the prophets and Paul
taught things that were kept secret from the prophets.
It was kept secret from the prophets that Gentile salvation
would occur through Israel’s fall (Rom 11:25). Also kept secret
was the new body of believers that was being created which was
separate from the elect nation of Israel (Eph 3:6).
Nor was it prophesied that there would be free salvation apart
from the covenants and the law (Rom 3:21-22).
While the prophets spoke about a promised land given to a chosen
nation ruling in an earthly kingdom in Jerusalem, Paul spoke of
both Jews and Gentiles reigning in heavenly places judging
angels (Eph 2:6).
There are many blessings yet future that will fulfill the
writings of the law and the prophets including the coming
kingdom to Israel. Yet since the secret information was not
spoken by the prophets, we live in a period separate from the
subject of prophecy.
Instead of an age of law and prophecy, we live in the
dispensation of grace which had been hid in God from the
foundation of the world (Eph 3:9).
Though the verse clearly says it was secret since the world
began, many still try to search the prophets for clues about
what is happening now.
It’s time we continue what God started with Paul “to make all
men see what is the fellowship of the mystery” the secret since
the world began (Eph 3:9).

When the Dispensation of Grace Began
HTML http://graceambassadors.com/midacts/the-start-of-the-dispensation-of-the-grace-of-god
A common accusation against mid-Acts dispensationalists is that
we do not know when the dispensation of grace began.
This is simply not true[1].
Mid-Acts dispensationalists believe the dispensation of grace
began with Paul. Paul was the starting point. Paul was not saved
before Acts 9.
This is not arbitrary.
Paul explains that a dispensation is not an arbitrary period of
time, but rather begins with a revelation dispensed from God.
“If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which
is given me to you-ward: How that by revelation he made known
unto me the mystery…” – Ephesians 3:2-3
When was this grace first given to Paul? Answer: At his
conversion.
“And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for
that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; Who
was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I
obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. And the
grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love
which is in Christ Jesus.” – 1 Timothy 1:12-14
It was at his conversion from blasphemer to minister of the Lord
that God bestowed grace to him:
“…because of the grace that is given to me of God, That I should
be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles,…” – Rom
15:15-16
“Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the
grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his
power.” – Eph 3:7
The calling of Paul to ministry is recorded as far back as Acts
9:15.
“…[Paul] is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the
Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:” – Acts 9:15
Paul tells his own story of how it all began at least twice in
the book of Acts, here before Agrippa:
“Whereupon as I went to Damascus [Acts 9]… And he said, I am
Jesus whom thou persecutest. But rise, and stand upon thy feet:
for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a
minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast
seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;
Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto
whom now I send thee,…” – Acts 26:12-17
Paul’s conversion whereby God gave him grace and apostleship is
mentioned more times in Acts and the epistles than the popular
Spirit outpouring at Pentecost in Acts 2.
Clearly God is calling attention to when he gave Paul grace and
called him to minister to all men in Acts 9.
The beginning of the dispensation of the grace of God was when
an undeserving sinner first received longsuffering and salvation
from God freely apart from Israel and the law.
“This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am
chief. Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first
Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern
to them which should hereafter believe on him to life
everlasting.” – 1 Tim 1:15-16
The Lord Jesus Christ made Paul a pattern for those who would
follow after in the gospel of the grace of God, and in the
fellowship of the mystery.
We do not worship Paul, we recognize the Biblical emphasis upon
the dispensation of God’s grace first given to Paul. This was
not in the beginning of Acts at Pentecost, nor at the end, but
in the middle when Christ first appeared to Paul.

1 – Often critics are unaware of the differences between the
mid-Acts and Acts 28 teachings, and lump them together as if
there is extreme ambiguity in the mid-Acts position. The Acts 28
position is not mid-Acts dispensational, and should be treated
separately. Some Acts 28ers have even preferred the nomenclature
post-Acts.

a response to his rage.
That woman be Israel and her namesake existing again is no
mistake. She has terrible times ahead, but Zechariah 14 stands
as a reminder that God wins and the dragons crafty web weaving
is tangling that grim up in a sorrowful fate, of his own

Verse List: Paul’s Special Apostleship
This page contains 53 references which show Paul’s special
apostleship from the Lord Jesus Christ to the Gentiles. His
position as the dispenser of the Lord’s instructions for this
age is largely ignored in mainstream Christianity.

Acts 9:15
But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for HE IS A CHOSEN
VESSEL UNTO ME, TO BEAR MY NAME BEFORE THE GENTILES, AND KINGS,
AND THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL:
Acts 20:24
But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear
unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the
ministry, WHICH I HAVE RECEIVED OF THE LORD JESUS, to testify
the gospel of the grace of God.
Acts 22:21
And he said unto me, Depart: for I WILL SEND THEE FAR HENCE UNTO
THE GENTILES.
Romans 1:1
PAUL, A SERVANT OF JESUS CHRIST, CALLED TO BE AN APOSTLE,
SEPARATED UNTO THE GOSPEL OF GOD,
Romans 1:5
By whom WE HAVE RECEIVED GRACE AND APOSTLESHIP, for obedience to
the faith among all nations, for his name:
Romans 2:16
In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus
Christ ACCORDING TO MY GOSPEL.
Romans 11:13
FOR I SPEAK TO YOU GENTILES, INASMUCH AS I AM THE APOSTLE OF THE
GENTILES, I MAGNIFY MINE OFFICE:
Romans 15:15-16
Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you
in some sort, as putting you in mind, BECAUSE OF THE GRACE THAT
IS GIVEN TO ME OF GOD, THAT I SHOULD BE THE MINISTER OF JESUS
CHRIST TO THE GENTILES, ministering the gospel of God, that the
offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being
sanctified by the Holy Ghost.
Romans 16:25
Now to him that is of power to stablish you ACCORDING TO MY
GOSPEL, AND THE PREACHING OF JESUS CHRIST, ACCORDING TO THE
REVELATION OF THE MYSTERY, WHICH WAS KEPT SECRET SINCE THE WORLD
BEGAN, But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the
prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God,
made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
1 Corinthians 1:1
PAUL, CALLED TO BE AN APOSTLE OF JESUS CHRIST THROUGH THE WILL
OF GOD, AND SOSTHENES OUR BROTHER,
1 Corinthians 1:17
FOR CHRIST SENT ME not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not
with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of
none effect.
1 Corinthians 3:10
ACCORDING TO THE GRACE OF GOD WHICH IS GIVEN UNTO ME, AS A WISE
MASTERBUILDER, I HAVE LAID THE FOUNDATION, AND ANOTHER BUILDETH
THEREON. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
1 Corinthians 4:9
For I think that GOD HATH SET FORTH US THE APOSTLES LAST, as it
were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the
world, and to angels, and to men.
1 Corinthians 4:16
For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have
ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you
through the gospel. Wherefore I beseech you, BE YE FOLLOWERS OF
ME.
1 Corinthians 9:1-2
AM I NOT AN APOSTLE? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ
our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord? If I be not an apostle
unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine
apostleship are ye in the Lord.
1 Corinthians 9:17
For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if
against my will, A DISPENSATION OF THE GOSPEL IS COMMITTED UNTO
ME.
1 Corinthians 11:1
BE YE FOLLOWERS OF ME, EVEN AS I ALSO AM OF CHRIST.
1 Corinthians 11:23
FOR I HAVE RECEIVED OF THE LORD that which also I delivered unto
you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed
took bread:
1 Corinthians 14:37
If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him
acknowledge that THE THINGS THAT I WRITE UNTO YOU ARE THE
COMMANDMENTS OF THE LORD.
1 Corinthians 15:3
For I delivered unto you first of all THAT WHICH I ALSO
RECEIVED, how that Christ died for our sins according to the
scriptures;
1 Corinthians 15:9
FOR I AM THE LEAST OF THE APOSTLES, THAT AM NOT MEET TO BE
CALLED AN APOSTLE, because I persecuted the church of God.
1 Corinthians 15:51-52
Behold, I SHEW YOU A MYSTERY; We shall not all sleep, but we
shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye,
at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead
shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
2 Corinthians 1:1
PAUL, AN APOSTLE OF JESUS CHRIST BY THE WILL OF GOD, and Timothy
our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with
all the saints which are in all Achaia:
2 Corinthians 11:5
FOR I SUPPOSE I WAS NOT A WHIT BEHIND THE VERY CHIEFEST
APOSTLES.
2 Corinthians 12:11
I am become a fool in glorying; ye have compelled me: for I
ought to have been commended of you: FOR IN NOTHING AM I BEHIND
THE VERY CHIEFEST APOSTLES, THOUGH I BE NOTHING.
2 Corinthians 12:12
TRULY THE SIGNS OF AN APOSTLE WERE WROUGHT AMONG YOU in all
patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.
Galatians 1:1
PAUL, AN APOSTLE, (NOT OF MEN, NEITHER BY MAN, BUT BY JESUS
CHRIST, AND GOD THE FATHER, WHO RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD;)
Galatians 1:8-9
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel
unto you THAN THAT WHICH WE HAVE PREACHED UNTO YOU, let him be
accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man
preach any other gospel unto you THAN THAT YE HAVE RECEIVED, let
him be accursed.
Galatians 1:11-12
BUT I CERTIFY YOU, BRETHREN, THAT THE GOSPEL WHICH WAS PREACHED
OF ME IS NOT AFTER MAN. FOR I NEITHER RECEIVED IT OF MAN,
NEITHER WAS I TAUGHT IT, BUT BY THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST.
Galatians 1:15-16
But when it pleased God, WHO SEPARATED ME FROM MY MOTHER’S WOMB,
AND CALLED ME BY HIS GRACE, To reveal his Son in me, that I
might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not
with flesh and blood:
Galatians 2:2
And I went up by revelation, and COMMUNICATED UNTO THEM THAT
GOSPEL WHICH I PREACH AMONG THE GENTILES, but privately to them
which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had
run, in vain.
Galatians 2:6
But of these who seemed to be somewhat, (whatsoever they were,
it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man’s person:) for
they who seemed to be somewhat in conference ADDED NOTHING TO
ME:
Galatians 2:7
But contrariwise, when they saw that THE GOSPEL OF THE
UNCIRCUMCISION WAS COMMITTED UNTO ME, AS THE GOSPEL OF THE
CIRCUMCISION WAS UNTO PETER;
Galatians 2:8
(FOR HE THAT WROUGHT EFFECTUALLY IN PETER TO THE APOSTLESHIP OF
THE CIRCUMCISION, THE SAME WAS MIGHTY IN ME TOWARD THE
GENTILES:)
Galatians 2:9
And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars,
perceived THE GRACE THAT WAS GIVEN UNTO ME, they gave to me and
Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; THAT WE SHOULD GO UNTO
THE HEATHEN, and they unto the circumcision.
Ephesians 1:1
PAUL, AN APOSTLE OF JESUS CHRIST BY THE WILL OF GOD, to the
saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ
Jesus:
Ephesians 3:1-2
For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you
Gentiles, If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of
God WHICH IS GIVEN ME TO YOU-WARD:
Ephesians 3:3
How that BY REVELATION HE MADE KNOWN UNTO ME THE MYSTERY; (as I
wrote afore in few words,
Ephesians 3:7
WHEREOF I WAS MADE A MINISTER, according to the gift of the
grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his
power.
Ephesians 3:8-9
UNTO ME, WHO AM LESS THAN THE LEAST OF ALL SAINTS, IS THIS GRACE
GIVEN, THAT I SHOULD PREACH AMONG THE GENTILES the unsearchable
riches of Christ; And to make all men see what is the fellowship
of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been
hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
Colossians 1:1
PAUL, AN APOSTLE OF JESUS CHRIST BY THE WILL OF GOD, and
Timotheus our brother,
Colossians 1:24-25
Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which
is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his
body’s sake, which is the church: WHEREOF I AM MADE A MINISTER,
ACCORDING TO THE DISPENSATION OF GOD WHICH IS GIVEN TO ME FOR
YOU, to fulfil the word of God; Even the mystery which hath been
hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to
his saints:
2 Thessalonians 3:9
Not because we have not power, but TO MAKE OURSELVES AN ENSAMPLE
UNTO YOU TO FOLLOW US.
1 Timothy 1:1
PAUL, AN APOSTLE OF JESUS CHRIST BY THE COMMANDMENT OF GOD OUR
SAVIOUR, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;
1 Timothy 1:11
According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, WHICH WAS
COMMITTED TO MY TRUST.
1 Timothy 1:15
This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; OF WHOM I AM
CHIEF.
1 Timothy 1:16
Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, THAT IN ME FIRST Jesus
Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, FOR A PATTERN TO THEM
which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
1 Timothy 2:7
Whereunto I AM ORDAINED A PREACHER, AND AN APOSTLE, (I SPEAK THE
TRUTH IN CHRIST, AND LIE NOT;) A TEACHER OF THE GENTILES in
faith and verity.
2 Timothy 1:1
PAUL, AN APOSTLE OF JESUS CHRIST BY THE WILL OF GOD, according
to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,
2 Timothy 1:11
Whereunto I AM APPOINTED A PREACHER, AND AN APOSTLE, AND A
TEACHER OF THE GENTILES.
2 Timothy 2:8
Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from
the dead ACCORDING TO MY GOSPEL:
Titus 1:1
PAUL, A SERVANT OF GOD, AND AN APOSTLE OF JESUS CHRIST,
according to the faith of God’s elect, and the acknowledging of
the truth which is after godliness;
Titus 1:2-3
In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised
before the world began; But hath in due times manifested his
word through preaching, WHICH IS COMMITTED UNTO ME according to
the commandment of God our Saviour;

Are We Under Any Covenants?
HTML http://graceambassadors.com/tradition/are-we-under-any-covenants
When the Bible speaks of covenants in the specific sense, it is
speaking of the covenants given to God’s chosen nation Israel.
No one today in the dispensation of Grace is a partaker of the
covenants which are made between Israel and God.
Hebrews 8:7 speaks of the first covenant and the second covenant
given to Israel. The first covenant describes the Law as given
to Israel at Horeb:
“The LORD our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.” –
Deuteronomy 5:2
The second covenant, or ‘better covenant’, is the ‘new covenant’
also given to Israel (Heb 8:13, 12:24).
“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of
Israel after those days, saith the Lord;…” – Hebrews 8:10
And again in Jeremiah:
“Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new
covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:”
– Jeremiah 31:31
Knowing that the covenants were given to Israel and Judah, Paul
stated concerning his brethren according to the flesh, Israel,
“…to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the
covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God,
and the promises;…” Romans 9:4
Gentiles and the Body of Christ
The covenants were between God and Israel regarding their future
redemption as spoken of by the prophets since the world began.
However, Gentiles in time past as well as those in the body of
Christ today are not a part of the covenants.
Paul says,
“That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the
commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of
promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:” –
Ephesians 2:12
In order for a Gentile in time past to get the blessings of God
they had to follow the provisions of the covenant. (See “Did
Gentiles in the Old Testament get saved?” for more.) However,
they were estranged from the covenants given to Israel.
During the dispensation of Grace, believers receive the benefits
of the redemptive work of Christ on the cross outside of any
covenant relationship. It was purely by God’s grace that we
receive eternal life and the blessings associated with
salvation. Otherwise grace would not be grace (Romans 11:6).
Today there is neither Jew nor Gentile. There is no special
status before God for any nation today.
“For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have
mercy upon all.” – Romans 11:32
Instead of a covenant providing the necessary terms of
redemption, believers today are of the same body and partakers
of the promise in Christ by the gospel of the grace of God (Eph
3:6, Titus 1:2-3). We receive the mercy and the grace of God
apart from our adherence to any covenant given in time past, we
receive it by faith (Romans 5:1, 8-10).

What Is the New Covenant / Testament?
HTML http://graceambassadors.com/prophecy/what-is-the-new-covenant-testament
Sometimes called the New Testament, the new covenant is a
fulfillment of the promise God made with Israel to bring them
back to the land and to help them obey the law. As a result this
better testament would allow Israel to reap the blessings of
God’s covenant made with their fathers (Luke 1:72-75).
The beginning of this New Testament can be found in Deuteronomy
30:1-9, where God promises that he will:
Have compassion on them (30:3)
Gather them together from among the nations (30:3-5)
Allow them to dwell in the promised land (30:3-5)
Circumcise their heart so they can obey the commandments
(30:6-8)
Make their work plenteous (30:9)
This testament would finally provide for the redemption of the
nation Israel and institute what was needed to begin God’s
strategy for blessing the ‘kindreds of the earth’ through their
priesthood (Gen 12:3, 22:18, Acts 3:25).
What Israel would fail to accomplish on their own accord under
the old covenant, God would provide for them under the new.
New Covenant prophesied
The prophets also reminded the Jews of the promised new
covenant:
“Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new
covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:”
– Jeremiah 31:31
Jeremiah goes on to describe how God will ‘put my law in their
inward parts’ and will ‘remember their sin no more’ (Jeremiah
31:33-34).
Ezekiel also describes the supernatural empowerment that will
accompany the new covenant as he writes:
“And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in
my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. “ –
Ezekiel 36:27
The description given by Ezekiel also mentions how God will:
Gather them from all countries (36:24)
Allow them to dwell in the Promised Land (36:28)
‘Multiply the fruit of the tree’ (36:30)
New Covenant confirmed
In Romans, Paul says that Jesus was a minister to the
circumcision to ‘confirm the promises made unto the fathers’
(Romans 15:8).
Hebrews tells us that Jesus came as the mediator of the new
covenant. Jesus testifies to this during the Passover supper
with the disciples. In describing the symbolism of the meal he
says:
“For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for
many for the remission of sins.” – Matthew 26:28
During his ministry, Jesus was preparing his followers for the
coming kingdom and new covenant when he taught them about
obeying the law, and told them about the supernatural
empowerment he would send from heaven (John 14:26, Matthew
6:24-33).
The sign to all that men were part of the New Covenant blessing
was if they bore fruit, were protected from harm, and spoke of
the law written in their hearts. Therefore Jesus taught that,
“Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them” – Matthew 7:20
“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name
shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing,
it shall not hurt them…” – Mark 16:17-18
“And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto
magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye
shall answer, or what ye shall say: For the Holy Ghost shall
teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.” – Luke
12:11-12
The New Covenant enforced
Hebrews tells us that the new covenant was not in force until
after Christ died.
“For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is
of no strength at all while the testator liveth.” – Hebrews 9:17
So then, after Jesus died he sent down the ‘Comforter’ who would
prepare the saints with the new covenant power to enter the
kingdom (John 14:26).
It is this ‘better covenant’ that the author of Hebrews
describes while quoting Jeremiah 31:
“But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much
also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was
established upon better promises.” – Hebrews 8:6
It was for this reason that Christ died for Israel so that their
past transgressions under the old covenant would be redeemed and
they could partake of the promise of the new covenant (Hebrews
9:15).
The enforcement of this covenant relationship with God was
exclusive and severe. All of those who were part of the covenant
were accompanied by the blessings of the covenant, while those
who rejected or fell away from the covenant were denied
salvation:
“For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the
knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for
sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery
indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.” – Hebrews
10:26-27
The New Covenant never realized
During Saul’s rebellion in Acts, God’s strategy for implementing
the New Covenant was halted in order to implement a different
strategy for a purpose that had never been previously revealed.
This revelation of the mystery dispensed to Paul was information
about God’s plan for heavenly places and a heavenly people. As a
result the New Covenant promises have yet to be realized. Paul
explains how those promises would be realized after the future
‘fulness of the Gentiles be come in’ (Romans 11:25-27).
“And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall
come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness
from Jacob:” (Romans 11:26)
Although the new covenant has been confirmed and established as
a result of Christ’s death, the results of that covenant with
Israel are yet to be realized. Israel has not assumed the
promised kingdom, nor is God’s plan for the earth complete.
Instead, what pervades is the interim dispensation of
reconciliation to all the world, where Christ is offered apart
from any covenant or special people status or nationality (2 Cor
5:19).

How Do I Know I Am Saved?
HTML http://graceambassadors.com/salvation/how
-do-i-know-i-am-saved
By Justin Johnson
Let’s be honest. If you do not know that you are saved it is
because you are not.
I am not trying to be cruel or mean, but simply honest. It would
be the worst kind of negligence if I encouraged you to believe
you were saved if actually you were not.
Unsaved people roam the earth thinking they are right with God,
but are not. This reality may be driving your honest question
about how to know if you are saved. This question is the
greatest question one could ask, because the answer is
understanding the gospel that saves.
Many people remain unconvinced about their own salvation because
of a fear they have left something undone, did not say something
right, are not worthy enough, or have not done the right thing
to be accepted by God.
Perhaps this is you! You want to do right, and want to be saved,
but do not know for certain how to know. What you need to know
is the gospel of Christ.
Do You Know the Gospel?
At this point you may object because you claim to already know
the gospel. But your question betrays you. The gospel that saves
provides the knowledge of salvation. If you do not know you are
saved, then you do not know the gospel that saves.
If you claim to know the gospel and still do not know if you are
saved you have been told the wrong gospel. Perhaps you have been
told salvation comes by…
– Believing Jesus is the Son of God.
– Loving the Lord.
– Following Jesus.
– Accepting Jesus.
– Being born again.
– Keeping the commandments.
– Loving your neighbor.
– Praying the sinner’s prayer.
– Repentance and confessing your sins.
– Confessing the Lord with your mouth.
– Asking Jesus to come into your heart.
– Making him Lord of your life.
– Maintaining a personal relationship with Jesus.
– Naming the name of Christ.
– Being filled with the Holy Spirit; or feeling his presence?
If so, you were told wrong. Your doubts testify to the
inadequacy of any of these “gospels” to bring the knowledge of
salvation. Have you loved the Lord enough? Don’t the devils also
believe Jesus is the Son of God (Jam 2:19)? How do you know
Jesus accepted your invitation into your heart? Is salvation
really by uttering a name?
Though what you heard may have had an element of Biblical truth
in it, you are still left wondering how you know you are saved
even after knowing or believing these “gospels”. This is because
they do not describe the gospel that saves.
Proof of Salvation
The Bible gives proof to every saved person to know they are
saved: the gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation
(Rom 1:16).
If we test your proof of salvation against the gospel of Christ,
we can know if you are saved or not. (I do not pretend to be the
judge of your soul, but using God’s word to evaluate your
salvation is prudent.)
So, what is the proof of your salvation?
If you say you have none, or that no one can know for certain,
then you do not have salvation.
If you say proof is in the good way you live your life, then you
have not heard the truth.
If you say proof is found in the promises of God to Israel, then
you are taking what is not yours. God made promises to the
nation of Israel, but there were many people in Israel who died
in their sins at God’s hand of judgment and not salvation. How
do you know you are part of the promises?
If you say proof is in what you have done or not done, said or
not said, then you are not saved.
Without proof on what basis can you know that you are saved?
There is none! Do you see now that you are not saved at all, and
rather than needing to be convinced by Scripture that you are,
you need to have the power of God unto salvation open your eyes
to the truth of the gospel?
What is the Gospel that Saves
Now the question is seen in a new light. It is no longer the
question of a saved person lacking confidence. It is the cry of
an unsaved person lacking proof of salvation.
Sinners cannot save themselves or make themselves worthy enough
for God to save them. Salvation is not for the righteous or the
good, but for the unrighteous and the ungodly. The truth is that
there is none righteous, and all have fallen short of God’s
glorious standard.
Salvation of sinners is accomplished through the cross of the
Lord Jesus Christ. God manifest in the flesh died innocently in
the place of sinners shedding his blood as a sacrifice for sins.
He rose from the dead three days later defeating the power of
death and offering his finished work as the means of salvation
to all men.
Salvation is not proven by our own efforts, but in the
righteousness of God in Christ when he died for our sins, rose
from the dead, and offers salvation freely to sinners who need
it. Proof of salvation is found in the gospel of Christ. God was
in Christ reconciling the world to himself by the cross.
“To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he
might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in
Jesus.” – Romans 3:25
We will be saved “if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our
Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offences, and was
raised again for our justification.” – Romans 4:24-25
This is the gospel of Christ; it is the preaching of the cross.
Christ is God, and he did everything necessary to save men
through his death and resurrection. His work is the proof of
salvation.
If his work is the proof of your salvation, then you have peace
with God and eternal life. You are no longer trying to provide
proof. God has provided it by his grace in Christ.
“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God
through our Lord Jesus Christ:” – Romans 5:1
“…the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our
Lord.” – Romans 6:23
How Do I Know?
I know that I am saved because Christ died for my sins, rose
from the dead, and offers salvation freely to all who believe in
him. I’ve seen him save other people who believe the gospel of
Christ. He will save you, when you believe it (Eph 1:13; Rom
3:22).
Stop trusting your life, your prayers, your works, your good
deeds, your feelings, trust the finished work of Christ and know
that you are saved.

I agree with a lot of what the author has to say, however, Isee
one item that I have come to believe is not a life preserver but
rather an Anchor.
In my talks with people about Jesus Christ I steer them clear of
the "Sinners Prayer". I believe this is more for the churches to
get people down the Isle or for Show.
I urge people to simply take some time and in prayer, talk to
Jesus. If they get this far, it will come to them what to say.
It has to come from the heart and it is very hard if not
impossible to put your heart on a canned statement made up by
someone else no matter how good it is.!

When Believing in Jesus Can’t Save You
HTML http://graceambassadors.com/salvation/when-believing-in-jesus-cant-save-you
By Justin Johnson
“Are you saved?”
“I believe in Jesus.”
If you think this is what saves you, you might be deceived. You
say, why wouldn’t someone who believes in Jesus be saved?
Because you can believe in Jesus and not be saved.
Don’t get me wrong. I believe in Jesus, too, and think that the
salvation of all men is only found in him. Yet, the greatest
lies resemble truth. The lie in this false gospel becomes
obvious when you consider what is not expressed by this
oversimplified statement.
For example, Muslims believe in Jesus: he is considered a
prophet in the religion of Islam and the Koran. The Hindus
believe in Jesus: he is a great guru for them. Historians
believe in Jesus: he was a first century Jew who lived in
Galilee. Even the devils in hell believe in Jesus and tremble!
Do you see that there are times when merely believing in Jesus
cannot save? Here is how you know when believing in Jesus cannot
save you.
When you don’t know who Jesus is.
If you don’t know that Jesus was Christ, the Son of God, then he
cannot save you. Jesus said:
“I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for
if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.” –
John 8:24
This means Jesus Christ was God manifest in the flesh (1 Tim
3:16; Col 2:9). If he is not, he cannot be your Saviour (Titus
2:13). God is the only Saviour (Isa 43:11). If Jesus is not the
fullness of the Godhead bodily, then he is an imposter, a liar,
or worse.
When you don’t know what Jesus did.
Why did Jesus need to die? If you don’t know, then let me be
frank: you are not saved, but you can be.
Maybe he was not crucified at all like the Koran wrongly
teaches? Perhaps he died naturally, or died without blood like
some false Bibles teach. If he did not die, shedding his blood,
cursed on a cross, then your sins cannot be forgiven (Eph 1:7;
Heb 9:22).
Without the cross, God has no means to save anyone.
Did he not rise from the dead? Then, you have no proof Jesus was
Christ, no hope of glory, no comfort in death, no salvation from
sins, and no expectation of eternal life (Rom 4:25; Matt 12:40;
1 Thess 4:14).
“And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in
your sins.” – 1 Corinthians 15:17
When Jesus did not complete the work.
James, the apostle to the twelve tribes, writes that faith
without works is dead. Mere belief in Jesus does not justify
unto salvation. After all, even the devils believe and know who
Jesus is:
“Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the
devils also believe, and tremble.”- James 2:19
“ And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou
art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them
not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ.” – Luke 4:41
James was teaching justification to the twelve tribes of Israel
under their law covenant. This was not written with the
knowledge of the mystery of Christ, the gospel of God’s grace.
The gospel of grace is that Christ did all the work necessary
for your salvation (Rom 4:5; Titus 3:5). This is called grace,
and it is offered freely (Rom 3:24).
There is nothing else that need be done (Col 2:10). How can this
be? Christ did it all. Your only response is faith.
The only way to be saved is by grace through faith, and this is
only possible if the work needed to save you was completed by
Christ, the object of your faith.
If you think you must contribute some work in order to seal the
deal with God, then believing in Christ is not enough to save
you. You are not trusting his finished work on your behalf (i.e
his grace to you).
How Believing in Jesus Can Save You
The Lord Jesus Christ revealed the gospel that saves any man
today to the apostle Paul. This gospel of grace allows Christ to
save through mere belief in the gospel of Christ (Eph 1:13)
“To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he
might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in
Jesus.” – Romans 3:25
Before that time, the righteousness of God to save by faith
alone was not known, and so faith by itself would impugn the
righteousness of God to save (James 2:20).
Christ had to make himself known to Israel for people to believe
who he was, he had to die and resurrect for men to know what he
did, and the mystery of the gospel had to be revealed before
belief could stand alone without works, law, or Israel (i.e.
pure grace).
There was a time when belief in Jesus was either impossible, or
insufficient, but now according to the revelation of the
mystery, faith in Christ is what saves upon hearing the gospel
of the grace of God.
Jesus was God in the flesh who died for your sins, rose from the
dead, and revealed the gospel of his finished work having done
everything necessary for your salvation. Trust him to be saved
according to the gospel of grace.
If you don’t know who Jesus is, what he did, or fail to trust
his finished work, then believing in Jesus cannot save you.
Are you saved?
“I believe in Jesus”
So what. What do you believe about him? How does he save you?

When Can Works Justify
HTML http://graceambassadors.com/salvation/when-can-works-justify
By Justin Johnson
The opposite of faith is doubt. Faith is always required for
salvation. Doubt towards God in salvation is unacceptable.
Likewise, grace from God is always needed for salvation. Our
good works are but filthy rags before a righteous God and also
are unable to save us; we need God’s grace.
But there remains confusion about where in the plan of salvation
do ‘works’ come into play. The confusion enters when the plain
verse from James 2:24 is compared with the plain verse in Romans
4:5.
“Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by
faith only.” – James 2:24
“But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that
justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
” – Romans 4:5
These are theological opposites. Some might call it a
contradiction. Pastors are told in seminaries that the
contradiction is only imaginary and that they mean the same
thing; black is white; up is down. I don’t buy it.
The theological opposite of justification by faith and works is
justification by faith without works, just as the verses
suggest. The plain reading of these two verses present a
seemingly irreconcilable contradiction unless we understand the
fact that James did not believe the same gospel that was given
to Paul.
Paul presents his faith in Romans 3 which is placed in the
propitiatory work of Christ on the cross. His blood offered as
payment for our sins (Romans 3:24-25). Since his faith was in
the finished work of Christ there is nothing else for the sinner
to do but to believe.
“To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he
might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in
Jesus. ” – Romans 3:26
Of course, James could not have understood this mystery
information as the book of James was most likely written before
any contact with Paul and the gospel of the grace of God.
James’ faith is described as the belief in the one God, Jesus
Christ as the Messiah, and in doing every part of the law with
mercy (James 2:13).
“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving
your own selves. ” – James 1:22
“Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the
devils also believe, and tremble.” – James 2:19
After all, Jesus taught doing the commandments if you truly had
faith: “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is
that loveth me:” (John 14:21)
Although works could never in themselves save sinful humanity,
they were required under the law for the obedience of faith.
Since James’ faith was in the obedience of the law according to
the commands of the Messiah, then a faith in works without works
would be vain indeed.
Works were needed for justification before the preaching of
Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery.
Thank God that now we have been delivered from the curse of the
law and we now know it is the work of Christ paying for our sins
on the cross that justifies the ungodly by faith alone! Put your
faith in the living Jesus Christ and his blood atonement for
your sins.
