We refers only to our bodies of dust. WE are really the spirits
that GOD put into our bodies to give us human life. In support I
suggest Ecclesiastes 12:7 ...and the dust returns to the ground
it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

To understand that soul and spirit are the same is easier if we
think of the soul as a spirit enclosed, locked, into a body. The
phrase 'became a living soul' referring to an already existing
self aware spirit would then mean: became a spirit locked into a
new body of dust and became a living (embodied) soul, since a
dead person is a disembodied soul or spirit as per Ecclesiastes
12:7.

I'd prefer to think of the soul as having two containers.
Flesh-Spirit-Soul.
The soul is who we are. when we die we know we are still who we
were
while alive. The story of the Rich man and Lazarus tells us, we
know who, why and what we are, we have all of our senses yet the
torment of the flames in HELL do not destroy the container we
are in (the spirit).
In Heaven, we will know all others and they us.

With this premise, God created Man pure as the driven snow. He
gave Him a capacity for good and evil. Place evil on the tree
and told man not to eat it. We know the outcome. This is an
interesting video.
We still see this in our children. Tell a child NOT to do
something and the first thing they will do is disobey.'

That is possible by what is written but I wonder, what are
Michael and Gabriel - spirits or souls? We know we are spirits
as per Ecclesiastes 12:7 …and the spirit returns to God who
gave it. So why refer to the container (spirit) and not to us
(soul) in this verse if we are really souls ummm, what, in a
spirit like we are contained in a body??
Spirit is ruach, breath. Living soul is nephesh which is used
of animals and men but never angels with or without bodies, so
it would seem to suggest that a spiritruach when placed into
the body brings the body alive by means of the living
spirit...creating (?) a nephesh?

The law is given to sinners, not to the righteous 1 Timothy 1:9
We also know that the law is made not for the righteous… The
law merely convicts of sin, Rom 3:20 The law simply shows us
how sinful we are.
Therefore the first thing to see is that they were sinners
before they got the command not to eat, and the command was
given so that when they inevitably failed (they were sinners, ie
naked, after all) they would realize they were sinners, have
their eyes opened to their sinfulness / nakedness, and repent
(fig leaves).
This is the use of all law and it worked like a charm with them.
That is why I call the Garden of Eden story the story of the
first Great Blessing to the world, not the fall of man.
