The Age of the Psychopath

We live in an age of deception - and we are also in the age of
the psychopath. Though the psychopaths are a minority in
American society they may help shape our culture. Psychopaths
tend to get into positions where they can dominate others.
Look at what a 1978 book, The Psychopath, says about this
personality disorder. In the 1978 book, The Psychopath: A
Comprehensive Study of Antisocial
Disorders and Behavior, by William. H. Reid, reports that a
study
of psychopathic children found they had a lack of guilt, or lack
of
conscience, which is common to psychopaths. They also engaged in
"pathological lying," and they would steal things.
Reid reports that adult psychopaths are manipulators who want to
control others. Psychopaths get
satisfaction from having put something over on other people - by
deception.
Two main traits are emphasized, lack of moral conscience and
persistent telling of lies.
There are some other traits of psychopaths. They have a desire
to dominate others, and often this desire to dominate other
people is mixed with a desire to harm others. In other words,
psychopaths want to dominate other people in order to do them
some harm. Many psychopaths are bullies.
In summary then, the psychopathic personality or character
disorder can be defined as
l.The persistent telling of lies,
2. A significant lack of conscience or sense that one has
behaved toward others in a morally wrong way,
3. And the psychopath tends to deceive others, which relates to
the persistent telling of lies,
4. In his or her behavior toward others, the psychopath tries
to dominate others,
5. And in dominating others, the psychopath may try to do harm
to others.
Psychopaths violate the rights of others.
Our "Frontier Culture" and our political ideology starts from an
emphasis upon the individual, and his or her rights.. Some of
this ideology is in the Declaration of Independence, and part of
it is in the Constitution, especially the Bill of Rights and
separation of powers which is to be used as a check upon any
movement which would make the government totalitarian.
The ideas about the absolute rights of the individual came out
of Isaiah 10: 1-2, Lamentations 3: 33-36, and Malachi 3: 5, and
from the secularization of these absolute rights given by God
which was formulated by John Locke and put into the Declaration
of Independence by Thomas Jefferson.
In opposing the American political ideology which begins with
the idea that the rights of the individual come from God, the
political psychopath would also be in opposition to Christian
morality. And Christian morality depends upon a foundation of
faith in the Truth of the Gospel of Christ.
"Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18. As
thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them
into the world. 19. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that
they also might be sanctified through the truth." John 17:
17-19
And so the psychopath as political leader would be more
dangerous in times when theologies which do not always stress
the Truth in New Testament scripture weaken the spiritual power
of the Gospel of Christ to build up Christian morality.
The absolute, or as Jefferson called it, unalienable, rights of
the individual, written into the Constitution by James Madison
and his House Committee, are under greater threat now than
before.
The psychopathic personality as politician is in opposition to
the rights of others in society, since the psychopath wants to
violate their rights and dominate and even harm them in some
way.
And so in his or her opposition to the rights of individuals the
psychopath furthers the goals of a totalitarian ideology, which
can be fascist or Communist-Marxist.
In psychopaths there is a trait which has a connection to their
persistent telling of lies. This is their getting off on
deceiving others. They love to deceive people.
Since Marxism "turns Hegel on his head" in endorsing a form of
the dialectic which is atheistic it opposes any absolute
morality, which feeds into and builds up the psychopathic
personality or character disorder. So, its not surprising that
some Leftists can be described as psychopathic, and that some
leaders of the Leftists now are psychopaths.
In its lack of common morality, the Marxist form of the
dialectic - which is an argument within a dialogue - makes less
use of facts and truths and tends toward the telling of lies.
George Orwell in some of his essays wrote about the Denial of
Objective Reality in Nazi Germany and In the Marxist ideology of
the Soviet Union. In other words, the government mass media
under government control in Nazi Germany and in Marxist Russia
told many lies their people.
But psychiatrists and clinical psychologists stopped using the
term psychopath. maybe thinking it was too offensive to this
group of people.
The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM)
which began in 1952 used Antisocial Personality Disorder to
describe a personality and character disorder much the same as
that of the old psychopath, and so the term psychopath was not
used too much by psychiatrists and clinical psychologists in the
last 50 to 60 years.
But an older literature which used the term psychopath still
exists.
In the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders,
Fourth
Edition (1994) the psychopathic personality disorder is called
the
Antisocial Personality Disorder.
In the Diagnostic Manuel Antisocial Personality Disorder is said
to
include:
"deceitfulness, as indicated by repeated lying."
"lack of remorse, as indicated by being indifferent to...having
hurt, mistreated, or stolen from another."
Much of the work of psychiatrists and clinical psychologists in
the older literature was focused on the common psychopath. But
there can be psychopaths who rise to positions of power in
society.
"Mattoid" is not a word used by psychologists or psychiatrists.
As far as I know it has been used mostly by populists and
patriot
types to describe many members of the financial and corporate
ruling elite.
In the nineteenth century the Italian criminologist Cesare
Lombroso
coined the term Mattoid. He created Mattoid from the Italian
matto,
or insane, plus the ending "oid," from the Greek eidos, or
resemblance. A Mattoid was first of all a person who in some
ways
resembled the insane.
Some populists or patriots have used Mattoid to describe more
intelligent psychopaths of the ruling elite.
In saying that the mattoid is a super psychopath of greater
intelligence and ability to plan and carry out plans, can apply
abstract principles to specific situations, and can use
knowledge of
human nature effectively, I think gives a more specific
definition to
the word than that which Cesare Lambroso originally intended.
The age of the political psychopath is also an age of deception.
And of age of the psychopath is
a period in which the society disintegrates into opposing
factions
by race, gender, socioeconomic status etc, and the time in which
the dominant Christian and family based individualist culture is
attacked, especially by the Left.
Georg Lukács, an early Transformational Marxist, said that the
Abolishment of Culture was necessary for Transformational
Marxism to
take over a nation. The Mafia model is also used, in addition to
Marxism, as a tool for attacking the Christian and family-based
older culture. The "Leftopath" might also have traits of a Mafia
crime boss.
Lyndon B. Johnson might be described as having been a
Psychopath.
