LORI......Women are not to have any authority within the church.
It was during Paul's days and it is still in effect today.
Outside of the church (i.e. this forum) you are on your

[/quote]If I usurp my authority am I being peaceful? The answer
doesn't change if I am a man or woman but what is different is
not how to live peaceably but the newfound freedom women found
in Christ. They didn't know how to handle that new authority
that Christ gave them, so Paul taught, the same way as the
       men....

You assert this but refuse to show it to me in scripture.
Let's take the roles in the marriage for example since that is
one argument you previously presented...The word for submitting
has two meanings...1. in the military it means the hierarchy of
command but in nonmilitary use (as in marriage) it means 2. to
work together with. This takes us back to Gen. where the woman
was given as a helpmate, but it also takes us to passages like 2
Corinthians 5:20 where we are told we are Christ's
       ambassadors...(scripture interpreting scripture you know)...so
if it means to work together with, where does that disqualify
the wife from any position in the church? But we aren't done
yet...Christ is the head of the Church, not the man...so if the
woman cannot serve as say pastor because of her role in the
family, the same is true of the men in the church, only Christ
can serve as pastor since He alone is the head of the
church...so, therefore, we cannot by reason of following the
teaching through to the end, have any man as pastor.
Now before you tell me I am wrong and just repeat your stand
rather than offering substance, let me remind you that I was
totally into the traditional understanding before I actually
studied the passage and even after study I am NOT fond of women
pastors but my preference is NOT the question...what scripture
teaches is the question and repeating your assertions without
rebuttal of what I found when I studied does no good to
       profitable communication on the matter.

Wimmin are free to pray and to prophesy providing they cover
their heads ... prophecy here is to be understood as preaching.
Now what else could a woman desire?
They are not to USURP authority ... but it says nothing of men
who willing submit to the authority of a sister.
How many times Paul in his letters greet women, commends them,
calls them FELLOW labourers with him in the gospel, leaders of
       house fellowship ...
... to whom Paul desires that the brethren give every assistance
       to.
Who could object to being taught by Corrie ten Boom?

Well it says THE authority, it doesn't say ANY authority. A
sister can minister perfectly well while still submitting to the

A wise person will recognise the gifts and unction of the Holy
