Let's examine the law of Christ
The law of Christ is explicitly found in Paul ***********
[Galatians 6:2 KJV] "Bear ye one another's burdens, and so
fulfil the law of Christ." ******** Paul will go on to say it is
doing good to all ********* [Galatians 6:10 KJV] "As we have
therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all [men], especially
unto them who are of the household of faith." *********** The
Mosaic law is fulfilled by love *********** [Romans 13:8 KJV]
"Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that
loveth another hath fulfilled the law."
The law of Christ was manifested by the Lord Jesus Christ
********** [John 13:34 KJV] "A new commandment I give unto you,
That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love
one another." ********** Jesus expressed the Mosaic found
fulfillment by love ********* [Matthew 22:37 KJV] "Jesus said
unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart,
and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind."
[Matthew 22:38 KJV] "This is the first and great commandment."
[Matthew 22:39 KJV] "And the second [is] like unto it, Thou
shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."
[Matthew 22:40 KJV] "On these two commandments hang all the law
and the prophets." *********** The essence of the law of Christ
can be found in the sermon on the mount *********** [Matthew 5:7
KJV] "Blessed [are] the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy."
[Matthew 5:44 KJV] "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless
them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for
them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;"
[Matthew 7:1 KJV] "Judge not, that ye be not judged."
[Matthew 7:2 KJV] "For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be
judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to
you again."
[Matthew 7:12 KJV] "Therefore all things whatsoever ye would
that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is
the law and the prophets." ************ The tenants of the law
of Christ can indeed be found in the sermon on the mount, but it
didn't nullify the Mosaic law.
Jesus included keeping the Mosaic law in the sermon on the
mount************ [Matthew 5:18 KJV] "For verily I say unto you,
Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no
wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."
[Matthew 5:19 KJV] "Whosoever therefore shall break one of these
least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called
the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and
teach [them], the same shall be called great in the kingdom of
heaven."
