[ [Mark 15:42 KJV] "And now when the even was come, because it
was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath,"
[Mark 15:43 KJV] "Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable
counsellor, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and
went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus."
***************** Mark says Joseph asked for Jesus's body on
Friday, which was the day of preparation. ********************
[Luke 23:50 KJV] "And, behold, [there was] a man named Joseph, a
counsellor; [and he was] a good man, and a just:"
[Luke 23:52 KJV] "This [man] went unto Pilate, and begged the
       body of Jesus."
[Luke 23:53 KJV] "And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen,
and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never
       man before was laid."
[Luke 23:54 KJV] "And that day was the preparation, and the
sabbath drew on." *************** Luke states Friday is the day
of preparation. ***************** [Luke 23:56 KJV] "And they
returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the
sabbath day according to the commandment." *******************
This being the day of preparation, which is Friday, makes the
next day the Saturday sabbath ****************** [Matthew 28:1
KJV] "In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the
first [day] of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary
to see the sepulchre." **************after the Saturday sabbath
       Mary came to the tomb.
Beyond a doubt, Friday is established by scripture as being the
day Jesus was laid in the tomb as well as being the day of
preparation. Jesus was crucified on a Thursday. If this is the
case, then here is the timeline of the crucifixion.
Wednesday sunset to following sunset, this is Thursday, Jesus is
crucified and placed in the tomb Thursday after sunset, which is
the start of Friday. This is the first day in the grave.
Thursday sunset to following sunset, this is Friday. This is the
first night and the second day in the grave.
Friday sunset to following sunset, this is Saturday. This is
second night and the third day in the grave.
Saturday sunset to following sunset, this is Sunday. This is the
third night. Jesus rises early in the morning.
This is three nights and three days in the tomb. Jesus rises on
the third day. This fulfills scripture *************** [Matthew
12:40 KJV] "For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the
whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three
nights in the heart of the earth.".............Jesus said he
would be in the tomb three days and three nights.
