For me, it was the simplicity of the KJV that sold me. It flowed
as poetry. I didn't find out until AFTER I chose the KJV as my
of choice just exactly how accurate it is. I think you would
enjoy the video in my Bible Audio Books threads here. Old and
New Testament called "The History of The Bible". I posted that
excellent video at the end of both threads here. I learned a
great deal about the Bible, the history and translations from
that vid. Listen to it while you do other things online. Oh
wait, you're limited to a phone only. So sad.

I enjoy talking with Blade, he’s pretty willing to discuss
subjects at length and in depth, and I appreciate that. I like
reading opinions from most of the people I’ve gotten to know a
little across both of the forums I’m on, it helps me form my own
opinions and opens me up to honestly look at my own beliefs.

I use different translations from the biblehub site. It depends
on which one gives the most clear meaning for me. That's just my
preference and what I look for. I do use the KJV sometimes on
that site. I like the Aramaic bible on biblehub. I probably
quote that one most often.
I own a King James bible with large letters because of my eyes
and I like to read and study it. I probably have 3 or 4 bibles
on my shelf here at home.

I’d like to check out Aramaic. Everyone always talks about the
Greek and Hebrew and I almost never hear anyone talking about
Aramaic. I’ve got 3 different Bibles on my shelf, plus a Greek
interlinear for the NT. One of these days soon I’ll get around
to buying a Hebrew Interlinear for the OT

Not one that changes according to societies needs. Do they or
will they change the lord's prayer in later versions? Odds are
one of them will.It is only a matter of time.

Thanks Blade, it’s a subject that invites personal opinion and
asks why we come to the decision to use only one version of the
Bible solely or not (over all others). I wanted to learn about
some of the factors that influence the decision to be “V.E.” or
not.
Honestly, I’d like to start with your personal opinion... at
least in the beginning. What I mean by that is, “What factored
into your original decision to be KJV-Only?” We can speak to all
of the other points later, we can discuss the subject as in
depth as you would like.
One reason that I’m personally not a proponent of “V.E.”, Is
that I have little, to no, knowledge of by whom and under what
conditions any version was translated into English. Now, I am
currently reading a book on the history of the biblical canon
and am learning a little about that.

[shadow=blue, left]Hi Jon...Thank you for the kind words. First,
My library while small is still available to me at a moments
notice anywhere I and my phone are at. I use the Kindle e-book
reader (free from amazon) and buy e-books online from Amazon at
a fraction of the cost of the hard copies. These ebooks have a
advantage in that one can search a book for a word, phrase,
sentence, scripture, etc. I still have many printed books but
have come to rely on the ebooks for fast retrieval.
Once you download the Books they are on your unit and can be
accessed at anytime even if there is no WIFI, etc. Amazon also
allows me to download these e-books to around five different
devices. Thus I can have a version on my desktop, phone,
surface, and Galaxy Tablet plus one other.
Having bored you to death with all the above info, I was raised
with the KJV. In a Baptist Church it was the only book
available. Back then in the 50's and 60's, it was about the only
version available. I am not studied up on the published dates of
the other versions but I think they began to show up in the
70's. Slowly at first but as society picked up speed in refusing
GOD, so did the newer versions.
I will say this, The biggest reason, I do not use other versions
is because of their bias against GOD (in its entirety). I do use
the other versions to teach against them or inform people as to
their inherent problems. One might look at different
denominations, single churches, etc and compare what they use.
In most cases, the versions they use will coincide with their
particular church doctrines.
I know I have tee'd off a lot of people in the last paragraph
but in my opinion, Satan has been very busy. According to the
comprehensive story of the Bible, GOD (the Trinity) created
everything with a definite purpose in mind. Regardless of what
others say, there are two plans for the only two races on earth
according to GOD. Jews and the Gentiles. The Gentiles who
believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ will receive spiritual
bodies, not unlike that of Jesus (for we will see Him as He is).
The Jews are a more grounded people (pun intended), saying the
land is more important to them than a spiritual Body with God.
We can go into that later.
You might ask why I am singing to the Choir. The KJV upholds
this vision and the other versions DO NOT. Most all of them are
in more than one way add, delete, change words to skew the
original meaning. (i.e. Some of these things I mentioned in
another post.) To me these are most important as they all lead
away from GOD Most of them was rewritten with convenience and
being 'easlier to understand' in mind. The others were written
that way intentionally. As I said Satan has been busy and what
better way than to make the WORD of GOD worthless. Yet in Psalms
12:6-7.."The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried
in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. v7. Thou shalt keep
them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for
ever."
It simply depends on your believing GOD CAN DO THIS! or not!
Of course, If you are a Amellinnialists, then The KJV is the
book that is wrong. The results will be the same in the other
aberrant parts of the Protestant/Christian Religion.
The languages used during the time periods is most important. n
my opinion, Hebrew is most likely the first Language and thus is
the oldest language. Aramaic is a language of the Gentiles, that
is older than some of the rest. In Daniel, Chapters 2 through 7,
Aramaic was used to write them instead of Hebrew. WHY? When you
read Daniel, you find the period of time highlights the
beginning of the "Time of the Gentiles" Where have you heard
that before??
OK, I will quit. Hope you have a great day.
