Should Christians Use The KJV Only?

Should Christians Use The KJV Only?
Should Christians use the KJV only?
God promises to perfectly preserve His word... so we should
definitely seek the truth of which translation is that perfectly
       preserved translation.
Psalm 12:6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried
in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
1 Peter 1:25 but the word of the Lord endureth for ever.
1 Thessalonians 2:13 For this cause also thank we God without
ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye
heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is
in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you
       that believe.
Isaiah 30:8 Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it
in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and
       ever:
Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth
pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law,
       till all be fulfilled.

[shadow=blue, left]All one needs to do is look to the actual
codex that was used to translate the Bible into English. If your
Bible is from the Alexander Codex, then you have a Book full of
missing verses, full of added verses. Rem, the Gnostics were
       from Alexander.

I use nothing but the KJV and I believe every word. I have the
NIV study Bible and I will read any Bible but when I read to
meditate and study the word it is always KJV. I have a small
leather pocket red letter NT Bible and it is perfect for laying
       down and reading.
You see, I tried to enjoy reading the Bible before I opened up a
KJV and I could not stay focused and interested long enough to
absorb and comprehend what little I WAS reading. Finally God's
word opened up like never before and at that same time I was
saved again after drifting away from Christ for 25 years.
The King James just reads smoothly for me and it makes more
sense. I truly believe I understand the KJV more in the spirit
than any other version. I feel the holy spirit when I read from
King James Bibles. I am not a NKJV person yet though. Thanks for
       the great video [member=28]victoriaroseinchrist[/member] !!!

I have to disagree with this video. The definition given for
“preservation” seems to equate more closely to “availability”
than anything. It seems to state that Christians should be KJV
only because it has been used longer and is more available.
All calls from the author of the video to do research and study
seem to use the KJV as the measuring stick and anything that
does not fully parrot the KJV is incorrect. The KJV is not
allowed to be questioned because of her view on what constitutes
preservation, all study is based on a conclusion she has already
arrived at. Older manuscripts in the original languages are not
valid for her to consider, because it wouldn’t be a fair
comparison because she’d have to learn two new languages to
challenge a version she is already fully invested in.
I have no problem with the KJV only crowd, because I believe all
truth is what is actually preserved in scripture, discrepancies
between differing versions can be investigated if someone truly
wants to know what version most closely matches the original
documents. This can’t be done if we are afraid that the version
we have committed ourselves to being wrong has a negative effect
on us. I don’t think it’s correct to tell someone to study and
then only give them the parameters to draw the same conclusions
as yourself. Again, I believe it’s ok to be KJV for whatever
reason you decide to be, but i’m Not sure sending someone else
on a biased study is the best course to encourage study.

After re-reading my comment, i’d like it noted that the “biased
study” I mentioned, is referring to study where ones own
presuppositions are not up for scrutiny along with the new
material being reviewed. I hope I did not come across as
unfriendly because it’s often quite difficult to disagree in
writing and not sound a little contrarian lol. I mess it up all
       of the time, personally.
If we take the versions we use (or anything else we humans
discuss) purely on faith , then I can understand that, but I
disagree with the premise that one can actually study in a
comparative manner when we’ve already declared our own view the
winner and reject anything to the contrary immediately and this
was my main point of disagreement on the subject. I guess I can
leave this comment as is after this sentence, because anything
else i’ve Started to write feels wholly unnecessary to me
       currently lol.

Ok, glad I didn’t come across unnecessarily jerky. I get your
line of thinking too, I MAINLY use KJV myself because more
people relate to it and I agree that it is a preference thing.
My issue was never with the KJV only view, my issue lay in the
urging of a biased approach of comparative study. The only
results you can get like that, are the results you are looking
for. Really, the only one who can tell you where you draw the

care to explore why discrepancy exists between their favorite
version and others, and put all their faith in one version,
       that’s perfectly understandable.

To me, this statement seems a more logical reasoning behind
espousing a view of “KJV-Only”. I’m not up to snuff on the
irreconcilability between Gnostic and Christian belief systems,
nor am I much aware of the constant updating of newer versions
and the proposed reasoning behind the practice. Points like
those you just stated are very helpful to someone that wishes to
study history in their consideration Of whether or not they want
to fully commit themselves to one version over all others.
