Question about communion
By: guest24 Date: March 29, 2021, 8:21 am
---------------------------------------------------------
So yesterday we had communion. On the way home my husband and I
had an interesting discussion, would love to hear your insights.
The question is this, the blood is easy to see throughout
scripture and in the OT law. The blood was used to blot out the
sins, cover them, be a barrier between, the price for sin, any
number of ways you might want to say it, that is easy. But what
about the broken body? What does it represent that Christ gave
to us and we need to be reminded of?

"My sins put Him on that Cross" How many times has anyone
reminded themselves that their personal sin(s) placed Him on
that Cross. Yes, among many but still personal yet forgiven for
all sins by He who displayed the Holy Grail...unadulterated
"total Love and Righteousness".
Jesus is using a metaphor to teach a lesson. The point
is that Jesus didn't just give himself in a spiritual way for
us, He gave himself physically. So, not a bone in His body was
broken, yet physically He was broken. We do this in remembrance.
There may be more to learn from the study of Jesus' broken body,
for us, but that's what I believe.
Are not the flesh eating beatings he endured represented by the
Cross? Are not the 108 prophecies fulfilled represented by the
Cross? Is not the thorny Crown given to Him represented by the
Cross? Is not the wound by a spear in His side not represented
by the Cross? Was not His death from the wounds of a broken body
and the blood that was shed represented by that Cross?
You said"But what about the broken body? What does it represent
that Christ gave to us and we need to be reminded of?"
Yet,on that eighth day, His broken body was healed and
resurrected defeating death so that many would live an
everlasting life.
What He gave us was love, salvation and everlasting life in
exchange for a broken body and the shedding of His Blood..
you said:"unfortunately you only focused on the cross which is
NOT what I asked...moving on." Thank you for bringing that to my
attention!
Yes, I am focused as the Cross that represents everything during
those eight days including the Broken Body, the spilt Blood of
Jesus Christ, His Burial and the Resurrection from the grave.
That Broken Body gave us that and more.
Now, I am moving on!
