How to pray in weakness...
By: guest24 Date: December 21, 2020, 9:45 am
---------------------------------------------------------
So lately the pain I have had 24/7 for nearing 9 years now has
gotten worse. As I sit to pray and focus on the things that are
on my heart, the pain invades my thoughts and those that I
intended to pray for are pushed aside because I can't get the
pain out of my head and heart. With other things, I can always
walk away, even if for a short season, but the pain is
relentless and it is becoming impossible to ignore even when I
purpose to put my mind on other things. In the past when I
prayed for healing I assured God I would endure anything He
asked of me as long as I knew it was part of His plan. Well,
this week He revealed to me a part of His plan when it comes to
the pain, that of learning how to pray in weakness...not when we
are weak, or how to allow Him to be strong in my weakness, but
what prayer of weakness looks like, not just when something
tragic happens but beyond that. So (saying it this way to try to
end some nonsense before it starts....what have you learned
about praying in weakness?

[/quote]I know it well. My weakness was so great that I felt
weak and helpless physically, mentally and spiritually. I was
trying to recover from alcohol and drugs and I was in pain as
well but the emotional/mental anguish was the lowest I have ever
been.
I prayed as often as I thought to and that was every minute or
so. I prayed for recovery and a way out with real joy for living
and a purpose in my life. This and Theology Forums is where God
put me and on YouTube as well I believe.
I have healed and recovered with medical help and I will have a
lifelong disability to live with. Yet, at the very rock bottom
and even on the way down which took decades to end, I always
knew that Jesus Christ would stay with me and keep me faithful.
There were days and night and weeks and months when I felt
abandoned and forsaken but there was always a small voice, the
holy spirit calming me deep inside. I will pray for you sister,
for the pain.

the prayer of weakness is that He knows my heart even if my mind
refuses to allow me to voice it....thanks for the prayer, we are
praying for you as well.

So far here is what I have learned, I was really hoping someone
would offer what God has taught them, but oh well...
1. we have to trust that the Spirit is interceding on our behalf
with words we cannot say...
Romans 8:26-27...I think we often don't trust that which is why
we feel a need to fill all the silences with our own words.
it is okay for there to be silence, or simply tears, not every
moment of prayer needs to be filled with our words and thoughts,
in fact, listening is an important skill.
humility is huge and even in constant pain, we can ask God to
get us out of the way so that He can do what He wants to do.
we need to trust what He is doing even when we don't understand
or can't speak what we want, it's all about Him, not us...not
our desires.

Blade, I really don't know your point but my guess is that you
are trying to accuse me of not being honest, so let me give you
two bits of info that you might be ignoring.
1. PJ is always good about responding to posts...he excels at it
and it is my error to not have pointed that out.
2. I posted the same thread in the tf and no one responded, this
was a cut and paste from that thread since it was a list already
typed out and I forgot to say NOT MANY or I was HOPING FOR
MORE...
So to PJ, I apologize for not mentioning you by name...I'm
guessing PJ will forgive me, the question is will you Blade
forgive me for being a bit off tilter for the day I posted this?

just tried to accuse me of?
