So many misconceptions and misunderstandings about American
freemasonry. I do love to listen to all the theories though.

They have very few secrets anymore. With all the new media and
research tools online you can find out almost everything members
know and maybe even more. You are right, keeping secrets since
1713 till now does not lend itself to trust.

I always find viewpoints on Masonry interesting and fun to read.
Just for the records, I am a member of the Freemasons, the York
Rite Freemasons and the Knights Masons.
I had risen to State level officers at one time. Just way to
political and time-consuming.

I find it difficult to "trust" freemasons as part of their rites
is secrecy.
The lower levels Masons aren even lied to by the high level
"initiated" Masons.
So the low level Masons don't know what they're talking about,
while the high level Mason lie to everybody, even their low
level "brothers"!
Some argue that freemasonry is descended from the Druids and
other ancient Celtic priesthoods of the sun and isn’t really
about God, but all about worshipping the Sun.
This is supported by the fact that the feast days for St. John
the Baptist and St. John the Evangelist are 24 June and 27
December respectively...
It's hard to find "reliable" information on Freemasonry. I found
a book written by Freemason Paul Nadon, who exposes another
troubling link that Freemasons are effectively controlled
through legal procedures:

I will disagree with that in large part, I can order books from
BN and Amazon that tells everything we do except the handshake
and the passwords. Nothing else is secret. Our tax returns or
public records, our ritual are in the public domain, if someone
is in a building they will give a tour. Very little has been
secret since the 1800's
Let's be honest most of us growing up invent secret clubs with
handshakes, passwords and weird rules. This is just done on an
adult level, notice I did not say adult or mature level.
But that is my humble opinion about the American version of
Freemasons. We also are the one spreading York Rite masonry
that is Bible Centric as far as the Chapter and Council Masonry.
That is what attracted me to Freemasonry
