Summer 2010

There comes a time when everyone has to up sticks and move home.
Unfortunately for us this was the fourth time in as many years.

We'd relocated from England up to Scotland and ended up renting
rather than buying. After a couple of temporary places we thought
we'd finally settled in this nice little village to the north of
Aberdeen, just as you get into Aberdeenshire. But it was not to be
as the owners came back from overseas and we were forced to move
again.

We'd all got used to and enjoyed living (almost) in the countryside
(we lived next to a field, but still had neighbours) so we all
fancied something more in the countryside as opposed to moving back
to the suburbs. I (so stupidly) said I'd consider anywhere within a
twenty mile cycle commute of work since I was already cycling to
work and fancied a journey with a bit more meat. And so it came to
be that my wife falls in love with this old farm 19 miles from work
(she saved me a mile I guess).
