Ickp is a mechanism for checkpointing programs on the Intel iPSC/2
and iPSC/860 hypercubes. It allows the user to periodically save the
state of his/her program to disk. This is useful for both fault-tolerance
(so the program can be restarted from the most recent checkpoint after
a system crash) and for job-swapping.

Ickp consists of a library which the user simply links in with his/her
code. It requires no rewriting of code, and a minimum of recompilation.

One can get ickp via anonymous ftp to princeton.edu in the file
pub/ickp.tar.Z. It is a compressed tar file.

Ickp is also available on netlib. Send email to netlib@ornl.gov
with the line

send index from ickp

If all else fails, send me email (jsp@princeton.edu), and I'll
get a copy to you.
