.TH RPMDIFF 1 "05 May 2006" "rpm Tools" "rpm Tools" .ad .fi .SH NAME rpmdiff \- Find differences between the contents of two rpms. .SH "SYNOPSIS" .na .nf .fi \fBrpmdiff\fR [-\fIdiffoptions\fR] \fIfrom-rpm\fR \fIto-rpm\fR .SH DESCRIPTION .ad .fi The \fBrpmdiff\fR(1) command compares the contents of the files contained within the rpms \fIfrom-rpm\fR and \fIto-rpm\fR. .sp The files contained within the rpms are extracted using \fBrpm2cpio\fR(8) and \fBcpio\fR(1L). .sp \fIdiffoptions\fR are the options which will be passed to \fBdiff\fR after extracting the files from the rpms. If no \fIdiffoptions\fR are supplied the default of \fI-uNr\fR will be used. .sp \fBrpmdiff\fR allows most of the single letter options allowed by \fBdiff\fR(1). It is assumed that GNU diff is the diff that will be called. See the man page for details on the options. .SH "ENVIRONMENT" .na .nf .ad .fi The \fBrpmdiff\fR(1) command uses the following environment variables: .IP \fBTMPDIR\fR This is the directory where the rpms will be extracted to. If it is not defined the rpms will be extracted to \fB/tmp\fR. .SH DIAGNOSTICS Return an exit status equivalent to \fBGNU diff\fR(1).
