Both are available from the Simtel Software Repository primary mirror site OAK.Oakland.Edu (141.210.10.117): Directory /pub/msdos/dskutl/ Filename Type Length Date Description ============================================== mac-ette.zip B 19932 930108 Read 1.4meg Mac floppies in a 1.44meg PC drive macse31d.zip B 82394 930827 Read/write Mac disks on PC. DOS & WIN3.x. DEMO macsee22.zip B 54701 930325 Read/write Macintosh disks on PC. DOS & WIN3.x macsee will read and write mac files. It is crippled to allow only text (ascii) files to be transferred. It also has an overabundance of nag screens. It has a dos and windows version. mac-ette will read mac disks only. It is quick and easy. Only drawbacks: 1) can't write to mac disks, 2) crashes on Zenith PC's. Neither program will format mac disks. Macsee is supposed to be able to do it once you pay for the program, but who knows if that is true? It is too crippled to be evaluated. There is also a commercially sold program, Mac-In-DOS, on the market that is supposed to read, write, and format. My recommendation: Use Mac-ette to read mac disks. Get yourself a copy of Apple File Exchange to both read and write PC disks on your Mac. Format the disks ahead of time on the proper machine. ================================================================ == Steve Walters | My opinions == == Honeywell, Inc. --> Clearwater, FL | are my own == == swwalters@fl51mail.space.honeywell.com | == ================================================================ .
