Thanks. 05:46:30 yw 06:02:09 ...all the links appear to be dead. 06:24:57 :/ 06:36:48 Ah, nice. I've got an assembly file now that will compile using the gnu arm toolchain. It has no machine code in it yet, but it does have my symbols, headers, and definitions and variables. 06:37:09 Has all hte machine code *labels*, but I stripped out the x_86 code and now need to write a pile of arm code. 06:37:56 I've been using macros to help me with symbol table entries, headers, and so on, for a while, but this morning before driving in I got that improved - I can now just make one macro call, like 06:38:03 head_d "name", label 06:38:34 and it will comopletely handle the symbol table and header stuff for the word, and also make a label where I am that notes the start of the word's definition. 06:38:44 I've got different versions of that macro for defs, primitives, etc. 06:39:15 So pretty much all I need to have now is just head name, label followed by the "body" (either machine code or definitions). 06:39:42 I put those in separate places - the macros set the subsection number to be the subsection where that kind of word's stuff goes. 06:41:13 I decided I'm going to retain the "relocation stuff" I had to do for MacOS. I'm going to do this one with 32-bit data but 16-bit internals, so to fully utilize my 192k of RAM I'll need to have multiple copies of the system, at 0, 64k, 128k. If it's relocatable from a registered base address that will be easy. 07:06:50 --- join: Zarutian (~zarutian@173-133-17-89.fiber.hringdu.is) joined #forth 07:34:44 --- join: pierpal (~pierpal@host102-235-dynamic.181-80-r.retail.telecomitalia.it) joined #forth 07:34:57 --- quit: pierpal (Client Quit) 07:35:13 --- join: pierpal (~pierpal@host102-235-dynamic.181-80-r.retail.telecomitalia.it) joined #forth 08:13:51 --- quit: dave9 (Quit: one love) 08:34:13 --- quit: pierpal (Read error: Connection reset by peer) 08:41:05 --- join: pierpal (~pierpal@host102-235-dynamic.181-80-r.retail.telecomitalia.it) joined #forth 09:37:04 --- join: dys (~dys@tmo-081-94.customers.d1-online.com) joined #forth 09:52:23 --- part: mietek left #forth 09:52:28 --- part: comietek left #forth 10:13:44 --- quit: pierpal (Ping timeout: 246 seconds) 10:25:43 --- quit: ncv (Ping timeout: 252 seconds) 10:42:29 --- join: [1]MrMobius (~default@c-73-134-82-217.hsd1.va.comcast.net) joined #forth 10:43:29 --- join: pierpal (~pierpal@host102-235-dynamic.181-80-r.retail.telecomitalia.it) joined #forth 10:45:35 --- quit: MrMobius (Ping timeout: 246 seconds) 10:45:35 --- nick: [1]MrMobius -> MrMobius 11:16:17 cool. but why have 16bit internals on ARM?
