But a lot of the words are very similar, so I'm trying to define a word that will define a bunch of words with similar behavior and add their xts to an array. But as soon as I define a word, I can't change the size of the array. So I'm not sure how to do it. 02:52:40 --- join: Mat4 (~claude@ip5b40bd37.dynamic.kabel-deutschland.de) joined #forth 02:57:10 --- part: Mat4 left #forth 03:17:12 --- quit: wa5qjh (Remote host closed the connection) 03:24:59 --- join: wa5qjh (~Thunderbi@203.111.224.44) joined #forth 03:51:29 --- join: Carisius (~Carisius@cli-5b7ec64f.ast.adamo.es) joined #forth 04:03:59 --- quit: wa5qjh (Ping timeout: 265 seconds) 04:13:15 --- join: wa5qjh (~Thunderbi@203.111.224.55) joined #forth 04:28:59 --- join: bedah (~bedah@dyndsl-037-138-024-249.ewe-ip-backbone.de) joined #forth 06:39:19 --- join: true-grue (uid179548@gateway/web/irccloud.com/x-cuxbywzgcotsvfdx) joined #forth 07:27:57 --- join: Zarutian (~zarutian@168-110-22-46.fiber.hringdu.is) joined #forth 08:31:57 --- join: nal (~nal@adsl-64-237-235-195.prtc.net) joined #forth 08:58:08 --- join: gravicappa (~gravicapp@h178-129-60-134.dyn.bashtel.ru) joined #forth 09:42:45 --- quit: true-grue () 09:47:44 reepca, perhaps store the words you're defining into a separate vocabulary, and traverse that linked list? It is hard to tell if your problem scope is larger than it needs to be because I don't know the motivation. 09:50:27 I assume you don't want the internal fragmentation waste you would get from ALLOTing space for your lookup table. 10:11:43 --- quit: proteusguy (Ping timeout: 258 seconds) 10:15:18 --- join: PoppaVic (~PoppaVic@unaffiliated/poppavic) joined #forth 10:54:09 --- join: proteusguy (~proteusgu@14.207.3.103) joined #forth 10:54:21 --- mode: ChanServ set +v proteusguy 11:29:34 --- quit: gravicappa (Ping timeout: 240 seconds) 11:36:15 --- quit: proteusguy (Read error: Connection reset by peer) 11:37:25 --- join: proteusguy (~proteusgu@14.207.3.103) joined #forth 11:37:25 --- mode: ChanServ set +v proteusguy 11:37:29 --- join: nisstyre (~yourstrul@li611-52.members.linode.com) joined #forth 11:37:33 --- quit: nisstyre (Changing host) 11:37:33 --- join: nisstyre (~yourstrul@oftn/oswg-member/Nisstyre) joined #forth 11:51:08 --- join: dys (~dys@x5f723b5f.dyn.telefonica.de) joined #forth 11:51:32 --- nick: dys -> Guest51608 11:52:35 --- nick: Guest51608 -> dys 12:17:17 --- quit: Zarutian (Read error: Connection reset by peer) 12:18:41 --- join: Zarutian (~zarutian@168-110-22-46.fiber.hringdu.is) joined #forth 12:45:08 pointfree: I'm trying to get a random configuration, where certain results may affect the rest of the configuration. Because of this, I want to be able to have any effects on the rest of the configuration caused by a certain result be automatically applied. That's why I'm storing xts. Most of the options don't affect the rest of the configuration, though, so most of the xts are just no-ops. 12:46:21 But since I seem to never explain fully enough, I'll just go ahead and describe the entire problem: I'm trying to make a call of duty 4 class generator. So that it'll randomly select a configuration of weapons, perks, grenades, etc. 12:49:51 --- part: PoppaVic left #forth 13:11:07 --- join: MickyW (~MickyW@p57A2F7AC.dip0.t-ipconnect.de) joined #forth 13:29:35 --- quit: Carisius (Remote host closed the connection) 13:54:17 --- quit: MickyW (Quit: Verlassend/leaving) 14:00:01 --- quit: dys (Ping timeout: 265 seconds) 14:13:40 --- join: dys (~dys@x5f71f7ab.dyn.telefonica.de) joined #forth 14:36:59 --- quit: dys (Ping timeout: 258 seconds) 15:05:57 --- quit: bedah (Quit: quitten) 16:16:44 --- quit: wa5qjh (Remote host closed the connection) 16:17:09 --- join: wa5qjh (~Thunderbi@203.111.224.55) joined #forth 16:19:05 --- quit: wa5qjh (Read error: Connection reset by peer) 16:21:29 --- join: wa5qjh (~Thunderbi@203.111.224.55) joined #forth 16:41:46 --- quit: wa5qjh (Remote host closed the connection) 16:58:17 --- join: wa5qjh (~Thunderbi@203.111.224.55) joined #forth 17:56:18 --- quit: wa5qjh (Remote host closed the connection) 18:29:26 --- nick: karswell` -> karswell 19:28:09 If I parse a word and then refill, is the address in the input buffer guaranteed to still be valid (same input source)? 19:41:41 hm, it appears to not be the case 20:23:42 --- quit: nighty (Ping timeout: 265 seconds) 20:36:21 --- join: nighty (~nighty@s229123.ppp.asahi-net.or.jp) joined #forth 21:05:15 --- quit: karswell (Remote host closed the connection) 21:06:00 --- join: karswell` (~user@179.63.114.87.dyn.plus.net) joined #forth 21:13:41 --- quit: nal (Ping timeout: 258 seconds) 21:17:01 --- join: wa5qjh (~Thunderbi@203.111.224.58) joined #forth 21:18:52 --- quit: Zarutian (Quit: Zarutian) 21:50:44 --- quit: wa5qjh (Remote host closed the connection) 23:59:59 --- log: ended forth/16.08.13
