Subj : Science Fiction Theater To : ALL From : Mike Powell Date : Sat Feb 01 2020 23:59:44 I recently received a DVD set of the complete series. For those unfamiliar, Science Fiction Theater was one of the first US anthology science fiction shows. It aired from 1954-56, I think, which is before One Step Beyond or the Twilight Zone. The stories are introduced by a host who shows a quick science experiment or two and then introduces the story as "fiction" while hinting that it could be something that might happen in the future. So far I am 6 or 7 episodes into the first season. It is sort of neat to see that they have predicted a remote control vacuum cleaner, similiar to a Rumba, and the artificial heart, in only these first few episodes. On the other hand, three of the episodes have dealt with UFOs and one with time travel (the same one with the high-tech vacuum). One other one may have predicted the diet pill craze of a few years back. Mike * SLMR 2.1a * Man who fights with wife all day gets no piece at night. SEEN-BY: 1/107 17/1 .
