Wells novel, The Invisible Man, this story features the grandson of the original Invisible Man. After a threatening encounter with Axis agents, he uses his grandfather's secret formula to become a spy for the Allies. DW> DW> Jon Hall plays the title character, while Peter Lorre plays one of the Axis agents. DW> DW> A bit of trivia... Claude Rains started as the title character in the 1933 movie adaptation of The Invisible Man. Both he and Lorre would star in the 1942 classic "Casablanca." DW> I watched it this evening. Not a bad movie, but more of a war/spy movie than a sci-fi... that is, if the lead character wasn't invisible. ;) A little more trivia about it... the leading female role was played by Ilona Massey, a Hungarian-born US actress who was also the female lead in the 1937 movie, "Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man," which also starred Lon Chaney Jr. and Patric Knowles. John Hall also starred in at least one other Invisible Man movie, 1944's "The Invisible Man's Revenge." He also directed and starred in two 1960's sci-fi movies, "The Beach Girls and the Monster," and "The Navy vs. the Night Monsters." I have not seem them but, guessing from the titles, I am thinking they may have some "camp value." ;) Mike --- ScorpioWeb v0.35a (Linux/x86_64) * Origin: Capitol City Online (42:17/7) .
